Re: CHL using somebody else's personal info...possible?
"I wouldn't admit on the Internet to being an accessory to felon in possession." First of all, I'm hardly an accessory to a felon in possession. And how do you know that I haven't already called DPS? I don't think somebody *smart* enough to admit they lied and broke the law to get a CHL pe...

CHL using somebody else's personal info...possible?
My neighbor just walked across the street, shirtless, with a 9mm in his waistband and mentioned that he got his CHL. Strange, because he was convicted of a felony drug charge as a teenager and has talked before about not being able to get his CHL (dear wife buys guns for him). When asked, he said th...

Re: Never Talk To Cops @ The Scene...
I have been looking around and following links since I started browsing this wonderful forum, but can't figure out when Mr. Cotton plans to repeat that particular class...help!

Re: Interesting sign prohibiting handgunsfound, your thought
That particular law firm handles most, if not all, of the tax suits/sales for Harris County and related taxing authorities. They probably have very few "regular" clients, and so don't really have to worry whether or not they offend CHL folks. I'm more offended that they have horrific gramm...

As my CHL instructor said several times during the class, "One is none, two is one, and three is better".

Re: Plus size ladies carrying
Those of you who purse carry...where can I find something reasonably attractive? I have seen a lot of designer knock-offs and patchwork-style bags, but nothing simple or casual for every day use. Have also discovered that just about everything I find has a bunch of little zippered compartments insid...

Re: Comments on Ruger SR9c and Taurus 709 slim
I own the Ruger SR9 and love, love, LOVE it, but I haven't ever shot the compact version. I purchased the 709Slim a few weeks ago and I don't like it. As mentioned, the trigger pull is looooooong. I can shoot an entire magazine straight in the center of a target with my Ruger (and other guns!), but ...

Re: clear weapon before surrendering it to LEO?
Well, I got stopped this week for the first time since getting my permit. I had no idea why either - seems my registration sticker had expired. When I saw the lights, I pulled off my sunglasses and turned into the closest driveway (a gas station). I kept my hands on the wheel until the officer reach...

Re: Well, it wasn't Wally World
Like I said, it was our first visit to Spring Guns & Ammo and we were mighty impressed with the staff. It was unlike *other* stores/ranges where the sales people have the uncanny ability to determine within five seconds of your approaching the counter that you are not there, in fact, to purchase...

Re: Well, it wasn't Wally World
rq, You may just have to wait for her to have an a-ha moment. I got trapped at the drive-thru line at Long John Silvers (elevated curbs, car in front, car behind) with a shady character staring at me and wandering closer and closer when I decided I needed to heed my hubby's sage advice and consider ...

Well, it wasn't Wally World
...and I didn't go for a week after my permit arrived, but I carried for the first time tonight! Made it through Academy and Red Lobster. Like I said, it wasn't Wally World, but do I at least get points for taking my first trip to Academy to buy another gun and some ammo? Hubby has been carrying my ...
