You got to get up mighty early in the morning to offend me; ergo, none taken. :headscratch It's a mighty long commute from Houston to Boston College, ain't it?
:biggrinjester: There wouldn't happen to be a "lives in" category in the profile would there?

When I was a 'yoot', many, many moons ago, there were only three races of people: Negroid, Mongoloid and Caucasian.
I think the media knew their manufactured news wouldn't go anywhere if they reported a 15-30yo black male killed by a 15-30yo hispanic male.

Looking at the photos from court, that's the most logical explanation why they called Zimmerman white.

Exactly!

Your confusion is caused by words hispanic and Latino being used incorrectly in common usage. Hispanic is not a race. Neither is latino. Hispanic simply means you're from or have origins from a Spanish speaking country. The white guy walking down the street in Uruguay, the black guy on the beach in the Dominican Republic, and the mestizo farmer in Mexico are all Hispanic. Likewise latino just means you're from or have origins in a nation that speaks a romance language. Venezuelans, Haitians, Italians, and Romanians are all equally latino. The fact that their citizens are majority mestizo, black, white, and white respectively has nothing to do with it. The race term term that most people incorrectly use hispanic for is actually Mestizo. Someone of mixed European and Amerindians heritage. That being said, there's a good statistical chance that the majority of Z's genetic make up is white, assuming his dad's is mostly European. I hope this isn't written too badly, I'm on my phone in class.

Also unless they specify a race, anyone who simply answers hispanic on the census is counted as white.
