My expereince has taught me that everyone is fallible including me. Based on the original post, It would be a common courtesy for the officer to take a couple of minutes to help the citizen locate his CHL. It would be a common courtesy for a citizen to assist an officer if requested. This goes beyond any badge, professional attainment, awards, metals, or etc. Saying this, I know the reality is that sometimes people treat others with less then stellar behavior.
