Re: SAPD: Homeowner guns down suspected burglar
I am keeping my mouth shut out of respect for those involved, but I would be VERY surprised to find out that the home was targeted for any reason that is the fault of the family.

Re: Hornady Zombie Max Ammo...No, Really.
A prosecutors dream if someone used this in a self defense shoot! On what planet? :headscratch Seriously, the subject would only come up if a person was stupid enough to tell them that's what ammo was used. Marketing names like that don't usually appear on a headstamp. Even if it did come up, any h...

Re: Size Comparison: H&K Compact vs 1911 Commander
That width definitely makes a big difference, but my USPc.45 isn't the worst thing in the world to carry. Winter makes carrying easy, because the pistol really is relatively light weight. It's summer with the light clothing that makes it hard to conceal. It's always comfortable though. Flat floor pl...

Re: Help me choose a .45 ACP
I am new around here, but I will chime in because I don't see my choice being thrown around. HK USP Compact in .45 I choose the compact over the fullsize just because it fits better in my hand. I like that it is a true poly pistol that still has a traditional safety and is single/double action hamme...

I have a CompTech Minotaur http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95&osCsid=ulg89cngpl5h7alitdvfamd3u5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I like it a lot, and seems like it is going to hold up for quite some time. It certainly doesn't make my USPc45 "disa...

Re: Oops, I may get a $500 fine from the TSA.
I am fairly new to a lot of the regulation surrounding firearms, and it is a relief to see that in this case the officers who enforced the rules understood that it was an innocent mistake. Certainly a costly one, and they are not going to let it slide, but they enforced the law/rule/policy with a co...

A great story, and a highlight of two truly honorable men.
Also, a reminder to me that my grandfather's 1911 is one of my most prized possessions and that I am lucky to have such a concrete reminder of him.

Re: 8 dead - Copley OH Shooting
This is VERY close to my hometown and where many of my friends and family still live. It is a suburban neighborhood and the idea that this happened there is horrifying. I am glad the police were able to end it. It certainly isn't Texas where you expect the guy across the street to pull out his deer ...

Where are you located?
Also, is the stock symmetrical or is there a raised cheek piece? Looking for south paw friendly.

Re: Army Explores Lighter Barrels for Sniper Rifles
Sounds cool to me. Composites are certainly up to the task, but there is a lot of difficulty in fabrication and design. The cost may not be worth it, and a lot of the people with rifle experience dont have composite experience and vice versa

Re: Avoiding Many Change of Address (Military)
The longer I am in, the more little stuff like that makes a difference. It was a perfect thing that made my day in right in the midst of all the headaches of moving paperwork. Even the US Post Office doesn't have any special deal for those of us who have to move almost every other year. I really do ...
