I bank with USAA and they don't have any type of rewards program.
Some years ago, our company was building some houses near here. The equipment rental turned down our credit app, as we had never used credit. We had several millions in the bank at the time to cover construction, but nothing would convince the rental outfit, so I charged all the rentals, and materials from another supplier, on my USAA Mastercard, which had at the time a $30,000 limit. We paid it twice a month. When construction was complete, I redeemed the points for two first class round trips tickets to Paris! The gal taking the redemption said, "I've never heard of anyone with that many points!"
The funny part is that taking a credit card costs the merchant 2-3%. I also found out the rental company was in bankruptcy, so I felt a bit like we'd been called ugly by a frog.
