Re: Shortest gun range visit ever
That's actually my old range where that happened. In my opinion, a first rate place. I, the range officer and another customer got swept by a new lady shooter with her Glock - finger on the trigger. Turned toward us, pointing it straight at us, and saying "I don't know what to do next". We...

Got stopped - TRIED to inform - ignored
I got stopped by a DPS trooper about 10 days ago for speeding (and I was). It was the first time I have been stopped since I got my CHL/LTC 7 years ago. After he walked up to the window and asked for license and insurance, I started pulling out my drivers license and right behind it my CHL. He said ...

Re: Change of address wait...6 weeks so far
Follow up - did as suggested by pariah (thanks) - called at exactly 7AM and had almost a 30 minute wait. Worth it (I think) as the person said my replacement CHL had been mailed January 20th. She said they would re-issue it to me within the next several days. Keeping fingers crossed.

Re: Change of address wait...6 weeks so far
Sent in an email 2 weeks ago. No response. Have been trying to call phone number for two days. Immediately says due to high call volume, no one can help and to try back later. 12 weeks now.

Re: Change of address wait...6 weeks so far
OK - 10 weeks gone by and nothing. I'd normally just wait, but when I changed my address 1 year ago it took less than 2 weeks. Anyone have a suggestion whether I should try and contact them? Thanks

Re: Change of address wait...6 weeks so far
Just a bit of additional information... I did get an email immediately after that was a "License to Carry a Handgun Confirmation Message" from texas.gov with a big barcode and saying: "Your checklist contains no required supporting document items" "If you have not already do...

RECEIVED - Change of address wait...6 weeks so far
I moved residences about a year ago. I went to the state website and changed the address on my CHL...paid the money. About 1 week later I had my replacement CHL. I moved again this year and did the same thing. They charged me the $25 or so immediately, but it has been over 6 weeks since I did the ch...

Re: So I'm in the waiting room at Parkland hospital
When my dad was in his early 80s, he removed his S&W 915 from the nightstand and replaced it with his Highway Patrolman. He said "it's too complicated" when I asked him why. That let me know I'd better start monitoring him. Eventually we took the HP away as well. Sometimes, like a car,...

Re: CHL, concealed carry and the wife...
Of course you could loudly ask your wife if you are "printing" and you might get some curious stares from people who will NOT be looking for a handgun!

Agreed - it is no problem.
I printed out the TSA rules, and the rules from the website of the airline I was flying - just in case. The ticket agent didn't have a clue what to do, but pulled out a manual and walked herself through it.

Re: First (not)wally walk
My wife asked me the other day if I had actually carried my CHL gun since I got my plastic last Summer. I told her "about 200 times". She was shocked. Had no idea I had been carrying.
