Zastava M85 upgrade #3
Upgrade #1 I Recoil reducing pistol grip and single point sling. I am not sure If I need to go further with the front handguard which is sweet and rock solid. One thing, I did not like the polymer magazine well is too tight.
New upgrade, Midwest Industries Quad rail (Worth each cent) and Bushnell TRS-25 red-dot.
Update #3:

Beiruty, it's official my friend. You are a certified gun nut. Someday I'm gonna have to see your armory.

Here is the next upgrade you need. Love that Russian red and shellac combination.

Re: Zastava M85 upgrade #1
I had a chance to shoot it last night.
Bad news first: with cheap Tula 233 ammo that little Serbian guy does not like them at all. It was jammo-galore. I thought it could be the Tapco magazine, but I had Magpul mags too that I tried with the same result. I said it could be the 223 mag adapter, nope it was not the problem.
When I switch to my handloads, still 55grs at 22.8gr of Accurate 2330c, that the little picky boy was rocking and blowing fire.
However, this format of AK "pistol" is virtually impractical to shoot but from the hip.
I have 2 options,
1) AK47 arm-brace
2) Add a folding stock and carry NFA stamp. (This is my preferred choice)
Now, what should I know about "NFA trust"?

Funny enough I was just thinking today about picking up one of these or building another sbr ar but going with the brace instead.Beiruty wrote:I had a chance to shoot it last night.

These lil ak pistols are cheap enough to snag for a project, I'd love to get one ,add a krink brake and a folding stock
Try it with good brass box ammo? I've had to switch to everything brass since frisco gun club is anti steel case

Yep, I was at the Frisco Gun Club. They asked to stop shooting steel cased Tula. First it was steel core now it is everything that has steel in it. Now, Bimetal jackets, or steel cases are not welcome. Why, because they are selling the brass by the pounds and they do not want to have steel cases with the brass.rentz wrote:Funny enough I was just thinking today about picking up one of these or building another sbr ar but going with the brace instead.Beiruty wrote:I had a chance to shoot it last night.

Probably need a Sam Browne with the shoulder strap support at least. I'll let you know, I have a M92 Zastava, thinking about designing a kydex holster for it.JSThane wrote:I wanna see the holster for that thing, and I wanna see the belt tasked with holding it up!
And Beiruty, yes I like the forward handguard as well, it fits very nicely. Would like to change the color to black to, I wonder if sanding it lightly to remove the surface color and they dyeing it with something would work out ok?

Yes annoyed me when they changed and made the steel case rule since I didn't buy membership with that listed....lots of other failures too such as the no free full auto rental per year because well they have none and the huge showroom is almost non existent now.
But it's conveniant and has tons of lanes plus indoor 100yrd

Now, this has been installed:
Do I add this, or stick with rubber covers for the bottom rail?
