Re: Campus Carry -- Where Are We Now?
Looks like a resolution will also be needed for SB11, as the conference committee has deleted some paragraphs.

Rep. Fletcher, sponsor of #campuscarry bill on conference committee deal: "I see it as a workable bill that this House will pass." #txlege
Re: Campus Carry -- Where Are We Now?
I really like this revised conference committee version.
1. It would make decriminalization really easy in future legislative sessions, by simply striking section a-3.
2. A violation under section a-3 is a Class A misdemeanor, not a state felony.
3. It is a defense to prosecution from section a-3 if the violation occurs during the use of justified force or deadly force.
I really hope this bill passes.

Re: Campus Carry -- Where Are We Now?
Am I the only one on here who is more concerned about the House passing SB11 (because Strauss has openly opposed it, and will likely use all methods to delay the vote after conference) than I am about the Senate passing (with the threat of filibuster, but it has the LT. Gov as a more supportive leader)?
Or am I off-track on my assumptions? I welcome your opinions on this.
