Based on your sig, I would say you are SWG?

Anyone who doesn't get it, just move along, these aren't the droids you are looking for. it is to hard to explain, but for the mods, it is not inappropriate...

Ummm . . . actually, I don't see this at all.
I don't think you took that as I had initially meant it, two months ago.

what I'm saying is that there is a group that feels that without their gun, they are just helpless. "taking the teeth out of the sheep dog" is one way I've heard it.
thaaaaaat's what I was referring to. those that forget about the only "weapon" we each posses.
one that which you, Hank, are obviously adept at using.
good points, btw.

Maybe it's not inappropriate, but what in the world does it have to do with CHL?

it's like weapon types for World of Warcraft, or something of that nature.

***sigh***

+2 Ranged means it increases yoru ranged weapon skill my 2 points, conversely, there can also be -6 or whatever number.

This is reference to MMORPG's primarily, think of Dungeons and Dragons on a computer that is extremely addictive.\

Someone brought up a "magic talisman" and I could not resist...

If you think I am a nerd (I have not played since my son was born) check out these larper moneys... This is what they do in their free time...

And for the record, there is no way that kid had enough mana to cast that many lightning spells in that short a time period, and if he did, he would have taken agro....

Vorpal means basically "take the head off on a lucky hit"

and I think defender means it makes you harder to hit.

not that any of this has squat to do with CHL. it's just funny. not regular funny, but geek funny for sure.

okay, my last OT post for this conversation, but, just had to posit this stuff:

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorpal Wikipedia!
"He took his vorpal sword in hand" and "One, two! One, two! And through and through / The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! / He left it dead, and with its head / He went galumphing back." Vorpal is commonly assumed to mean "deadly" or "extremely sharp", derived from the words "voracious" (hungry) and "corporal" (Latin, relating to corpus - the body) meaning hungry for flesh, or perhaps to imply that the blade has magical properties. Many role-playing games have taken the latter interpretation and, since the hero brings the dead Jabberwock's head home in triumph, have used "vorpal" to identify weapons with a magically enhanced ability to behead enemies. It is also occasionally interpreted as meaning the blade is warped=-

OK, your explanation sheds more light on it, and I don't disagree.

As for the "+2" and "Vorpal" stuff my post prompted . . . my reaction was :headscratch until the explanations.

Now it's

On the other hand, since he used other words in Joberwocky, maybe he just used "vorpal" because it sounded interesting.

"'Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe . . ."

Many real words, used for their interesting sounds.

one of my fav poems.

Back in the day when I used to spar a LOT with buddies in HS they'd start smack talkin. I would break out with some jabberwokey. Throws em for a loop every time. Course when you run into the other dorks who paid attention in English class you both just start laughing.

Great stuff. I saw a leather bound copy (maybe pleather) of Lewis Carol's complete works in B&N the other day. I so should have picked it up. I already have similar binding in Poe.
