ANd those reporters, of course, are oblivious to the fact that LEOs are already prevented from making investigatory stops w/o PC, by existing settled case law, with or without the amendment. The amendment changes absolutely nothing. I wonder how many of those opposing LEOs realize that.baseballguy2001 wrote:In my neck of the woods, it's all over the media that "law enforcement" is the main driver behind killing licensed open carry. Just noticed that one of our local reps, J.D. Sheffield, who ran on a strong 2nd Amendment position and actually co-authored 910, voted nay on the concurrence. He will hear from me.

Re: House 5/27 - HB910 or SB11
Another ridiculous notion uttered on the floor today was that more time is needed for LEO training to handle Open Carry. More time? HB910 wouldn't be effective until January 1st. In the private sector you would get fired if you told your boss you needed (more than) 6 months of training for something so simple.

Well looks like -- Appointed (05/27/2015) Phillips (Chair) | Burns | Geren | King, Phil | Nevárez (2 voted for it 3 against it)
Will be overseeing the committee for the House, when and where can you see who from the Senate will be there and when this committee will get started on this?

Be very polite. My representative also reversed his vote, so I sent him a respectful note thanking him for his service, telling him that I noticed his changed vote, and asking him to do anything that he can to help HB910 not die in conference. 825,000 lawful licensed chl holders should not lose reduced 30.06 fines and licensed open carry because of the politically motivated hurt feelings of a group of 78,000 other individuals.Ruark wrote:Just noticed that one of our local reps, J.D. Texas Open Carry Bill Stalls Again Due to Political Pressure
Chairman Phillips told Breitbart Texas that Wednesday’s vote was not a vote against the open carry bill, but simply that members want to take the time to explore other options on resolving the concerns of law enforcement.
“We are going to work hard to get this bill passed,” Phillips said in a phone interview. “There is still a strong commitment from those who voted yes in April.”
Phillips said that if the Senate does not appoint their conference members or if the conference cannot reach a timely resolution that would allow the Senate and the House to approve the conference report, the House can discharge the conference committee and bring the bill back for another concurrence vote.
“I feel certain we have to votes to pass it when it comes back,” Phillips stated.

I've said a few things in anger earlier today....I'm over all that. We still have time and IF this was truly a priority for our
party and party leaders WE DO HAVE TIME!

We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions. ~ Ronald Reagan ~

This may not be popular but there are 38 Republicans who voted NO that need their NRA and TSRA ratings looked at very closely and adjusted accordingly.

There was a good old song that reminds me of the political game. " There'll be time enough for counting when the dealings done."Right2Carry wrote:This may not be popular but there are 38 Republicans who voted NO that need their NRA and TSRA ratings looked at very closely and adjusted accordingly.
