I've said it before and I think we are seeing it in action, I don't think campus carry has a snowball's chance as long as Straus is speaker. His ties to UT leadership and contractors that benefit from work at UT run too deep.

I heard Straus say midnight is midnight. So no chance to suspend the rule and extend the time? Are there not enough votes to do that? I assume that's a 3/4 vote.

I believe they tried something similar earlier. I don't think they have the votes anyway.

I think that was Kuempel, not Straus.
