Smith and Wesson M&P
I hope this is not a double post, but I would like some feedback on the Smith and Wesson M&P from those who have them or has shot them.

I have one, it's my daily carry.
Shoots like a dream; it has the best trigger of any striker fired semiauto i've ever shot.
Earlier revs had a few problems, but the latest revs have them all sorted.
It also has the added feature of being able to be taken down w/o a trigger pull, which paranoid folks like me really appreciate in a striker gun.
It also points very naturally, and is very well balanced.
I've got a pair of hogue handall grips on mine, because I like having big honking grips on my guns, but the standard grip is very servicable.
If you decide to get one, send it here: http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/M&P1.htm
to get one of his trigger jobs; the trigger will be beyond awesome once you do. (I have yet to send mine, but i've had some extended time with a friends that had his work done) The stock trigger is pretty good, but a bit heavy, but is very clean.
You can get them with and without the integral lock, as well as with and without a magazine safety. Mine lacks both "features" but you might have to search around for one depending on where you are.
I highly recommend it as an all-around good, high quality carry gun. I've had 1911 fiends shoot it and tell me that they don't totally hate the trigger like on most striker semiautos.

Carl, There is a thread on the M&P. I'll just summarize by saying it is a new design, works great, is available without the magazine safety and safety lock and is great fun to shoot.

I really like mine. It did need some trigger work, but don't most pistols these days? After the trigger job, it is real nice. I like the feel and balance way better than some other polymer brands. It is quite accurate and has been 100% reliable too.
Mine was a "combo pak" of sorts, that came with a BladeTech holster, a double mag pouch and 3 mags, no lock and no mag safety. Nice deal!

I just got the same combo pack as GrandmasterB. They must have put that combo together just for IDPA folks. It's perfect.
Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, but liken' it so far.

I used these instructions and did it myself: http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/M&Ptriggerjob.htmdaddySEAL wrote:How much did the "trigger job" cost to have done, please?
Or you can send it to Dan Burwell who charges $65. (got to factor in shipping costs too)

I couldn't tell you how obvious the lock is on the models with it, as mine doesn't have it. I can see the pin where the lock WOULD be, though, and my guess would be that its inconspicuous.
Where exactly are you? If you're anywhere near DFW, I can arrange to meet you and you can gander at mine and possibly shoot it if you want.
