Finally! HB 40 passed 140 to 18. Now it's time for HB 910. A long day indeed!

Just changed language of nursing home to nursing facility...or something along those lines. Philips took his own amendment back to shut Stickland down.

Tip: If you go to http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLook ... Bill=HB910" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and use the Amendments tab, refresh, they are updating these almost in real time. On the far right are links to the amendment pdf file that you can read.

It simply changed the wording of nursing home to nursing facility.

Martinez Fisher is playing the technical gotcha game and looking for an opportunity to derail things. Just let the House debate the merits of bill and the amendments and vote on them. I hope he never gets another bill he favors to a vote.

I hope his constituents appreciate how much time this Rep. spends on parliamentary procedure and introducing lots of House Resolutions, as a wise use of his time and their money.

Don't know about popcorn, may need a bottle of tums.

Point of Order fun. Hopefully the chair and rules folks are ready for all of this. Don't think there's any surprise at this tactic.
