Congrats! If your status changed today(Thurs), I'd start looking for it next Tuesday. Mine took abt 5 days from status change until I got it.

As far as envelopes go, VERY low key. No return address on it other than a P.O. Box IIRC. It's smaller than a business size envelope. Totally nondescript. Be very careful going through your mail because it could very easily be mistaken for junk mail asking for donations.
DPS informed me today that they mailed it Wednesday.. And today, Saturday the 28th, the wait is officially over! Plastic in hand!

Congrats. Hope mine will here soon.

11/12/14 - Got Fingerprints done
02/11/15- Took CHL Class
02/12/15- Submitted supporting paper work.

UPDATE

02/13/15 - Email from DPS acknowledging they received my supporting paper work.
03/16/15- Got home being out of town and found out they need a copy of my DD214 still (sent it with supporting documents I thought. Uploaded copy and mailed a copy to be sure.
03/17/15 - Email from DPS acknowledging they received my Support paper work.

Moving my status info from Feb to here to better track. So Friday I'll be on my 3rd week since acknowledgment email. Wondering if folks notice status change on certain days mainly and a time of day? I'm currently out of country for work and won't be back until some time next week. Though I do pop on and try to check every couple days on the site and nothing yet. Hopefully soon.
Called today as I'm finally back in town from work. She said they have all my paper work in house and I'm just doing the back ground waiting game. I was a bit worried cause of when I did my application and this has run over a year from than, but she said nah I got it all in before and good. Just doing the background waiting game now.

Yah, but still no status change and I don't have anything on my record. Oddly I found guys like me that had a clearance in the military or several other types of background approved checks tend to take longer than the average Joe. THough now it's just getting to that point where I'm like....uh change no, change....

I think the reason might be because they have to verify all those through various databases, that is why it takes like forever

3/11 submitted all papers and DD-214.
4/10 status update. Waiting for plastic.

Honestly I feel like that's not too bad considering some of the other story's I've read on here.
I do hold a security clearance, and submitted a DD214 with my application.
I don't know why but @SitTexasSir, you are right it will slow things down, especially the DD214,it took them about 10-11 days to verify that before they started the federal background check.

I'm just feeling better knowing that it will arrive in a week or so. After having a CCW permit in other states I felt naked in my home state upon returning from the service.

March 14: took class and uploaded chl100
March 15: confirmation email

Aaaaand now just waiting....
Just got off the phone. They don't have any of my docs (just the chl100 for me) and are checking with the documents people. I should get an email in a day or two letting me know if I need to re-upload or otherwise give them more info. Said I would get upped to a supervisor to get my stuff turned around quickly.

Seems like I've read a few times on here about people's paperwork getting "lost".... Grumble.

Got an email back today. They found my paperwork, I don't have to send anything else in at this time. I've been bumped to a supervisor, so hopefully the wait is shorter now!
