Re: Word use that drives you up the wall!
Some idioms are like fingernails on chalkboards. "Commonsense gun reform" is an affront to veracity, but I have to admit a news story comment I saw once hit the nail up-side the head. "All gun ppl are loosers."
That is so true. I am a looser. Just this weekend I loosed about three hundred rounds downrange and sounded a barbaric "yawp" in honor of liberal arts majors unable to see the fun in a day at the range.
Couldn't find quite all the brass, though. Shoot a few, lose a few.

As of the last couple of days, "belt holster".

Isn't that perhaps just to distinguish from a "shoulder holster"?mojo84 wrote:As of the last couple of days, "belt holster".
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

Two words I'm gittin' real tired of seeing and hearing are: "hate" and "racist".

I myself - when "I" all by it's lonesome is adequate.

"Optics" when used by politicos instead of the word appearance.

You forgot "I" at the end there. I like me, myself, and I a whole lot.WildBill wrote:I prefer me myself.Abraham wrote:I myself - when "I" all by it's lonesome is adequate.

Re: Word use that drives you up the wall!
I dont like being told, "Come here". If you got something to say to someone you should go to them. If its not important or your not going to show something you cant move, like a boulder, you should go to the person. I especially dont like when that phrase is used with the "Come here" finger gesture.

I don't use the finger for come here. In some parts of the world it is a very vulgar gesture. If I need someone to come to me I use a hand gesture with fingers pointed down or to the side.Javier730 wrote:I dont like being told, "Come here". "Word use that drives you up the wall." The wall part does. Along with, "Do you like Pink Floyd?"
Government intelligence has probably already been mentioned.

Javier730,
You sir, are spot on correct!
I loathe that command and gesture.
I don't respond to it well...

"Too funny"
Huh?
What does that mean?
Dangerously funny?
So funny, you might drive off a bridge or crack a rib laughing...?
Listen up.
It could very funny or extremely funny, but too funny?
Nah!
Dumb thing to say.

Adding the word "much" at the end of a comment.
