Possibly in the wrong forum. It seemed it might fit in a couple of different ones.
However, apparently one can obtain a gun license in Denmark, but ownership and licenses are reportedly rare. Since there is an event in the planning for Garland, TX, it will be of particular interest to see if and what happens if there is this type of attack here.
The shooting at this event may have organizers of a ‘Draw the Prophet Mohammed’ event ramping up security for their event. Pamela Geller is planning the event in Garland, Texas at the same site where a Muslim group held the event “Stand with the Prophet Mohammed” following the Charlie Hebdo attacks in France.

I tried to mention something against Muslim attacks on this board and was flamed because some people thought I was speaking against religious freedom in our US Constitution. I think what some people on this board and many others fail to realize is that it is not only a religion but about Sharia Law. It is Sharia Law vs. US Constitution and that is a political issue not religious.

Discussion of Sharia Law does not violate Forum rules.

I don't recall another post of yours, but mine here was more about a heads up for the possibility of this event coming here to Texas. Garland is also not too far from where I live. I know I will keep an ear out for this event and try and make sure I'm no where near it if it actually does occur.

As Charles stated, it is Sharia Law, not Islam in itself. Discussion of the radical commitment to the law is OK, but talking about Islam in general is the discussion of religion.

Garland is where I live. Thanks for posting this C-dub.

I thank you too Dub for the heads up and I don't fault anyone for avoiding the area of the event. But I don't believe this is the same thing as avoiding a bad bar in a bad neighborhood on a Friday night. If we change our normal routines because of the fear of terrorism then aren't their actions working? Isn't the purpose of terrorism is to put fear in the hearts and minds of innocent people to change their ways? May I suggest that if you are a young married couple with children or other dependents then avoid the area of the event. If you are an older man whose children are grown and your wife is taking care of then do not go out of your way to avoid the area. I am also not recommending that you go to the event looking for trouble but that you simply not change your normal routines.
I was in a fighter squadron in the Navy and worked on the flight deck most of the time. My dad was in the Navy as a signalman and also served on an aircraft carrier. He was told that he had no business on the flight deck and to NOT go there during flight ops because he had not business there. I was quite confident up there and had no issues. Our own pilots didn't like being there much because it wasn't where they spent much time and didn't really belong there. Their work environment was the cockpit and the sky and that is where they were comfortable.
I am not a cartoonist and don't live in Garland, so unless something changes to require my presence in the area on that day, I have no business being there and am not going to go out of my way just to prove a point. Just that same as my dad did by not going somewhere he had no business going on the flight deck during ops just to see what it was like.
The other thing I'm curious about is the response if something bad does happen if this event takes place. I'm sure there will be a strong police presence, but am also confident that there will be many CHLs there. However, the event itself might be 30.06 posted. Either way, I'm sure the police presence will be much higher here if it does take place than it was in Copenhagen, where they are all visible or not.

Garland or Texas should have extra security there, including under cover guys. Its a fair concern.

It may be some effort on their part, but I sure wish this sort of thing was more common. Sometimes the only way to teach people the meaning of free speech is to beat them over the head with it.
I recently took a tour on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego and all I can say is "Wow." That man could make something so impressive was hard to comprehend. Thank you C-Dub and your dad for your service. The tour guide also made the same point you did about being on the flight deck.

They are something to behold. The Midway is considerably larger than most WWII aircraft carriers and was commissioned just one month after the end of the war. The ship I deployed on was much larger, a larger flight deck and about twice the displacement and the most recent ones have an even greater displacement than mine. We once sailed alongside the Midway and we were amazed at how much smaller she was. My dad's carrier was a little more than half the displacement of the Midway, shorter, and no angle deck, commissioned one year before the Midway in 1944. Some of his buddies transferred to the Big E and remarked they thought they could put their old ship on the flight deck and sail off with it.

Just wanted to add, this event is supposed to be held at the Curtis Caldwell Center in Garland, which is owned and operated by the GISD and is also one of the few places in Garland that is legally posted at all times. No carry inside the building, but parking lot??? I personally will avoid this area (during that event) even though it is right by my favorite Academy store.
