Frankly there are less fireworks than I thought there would be. Luckily most, if not all, people have been pretty courteous.

Baylor prof talking... Yes, I can believe that there are dangerous compressed gases in your classroom.

This law school woman seems fun. I wish they would pass campus carry just so she'll leave the state as she promises.

I'm sure he backed this up with data from all the other OC states that show how much extra resources were required when OC went into effect...Vol Texan wrote:He wants to know who is going to pay for the extra costs and manpower required of when they get a MWAG call. What additional costs are there? ...The Annoyed Man wrote:Art Acevido has been called up. ...

I wish they would ask these folks that are against campus carry how scared they are now the Texas Tech chancellor already confirmed there are guns on campuses already?

It seems as though most of what we are hearing now is repeating those that went before them. I'm kind of surprised at the amount of unlicensed OC speakers and the Committee Chairwoman is letting them get away with it, especially since she announced at the opening that no speakers will be allowed to speak on anything but SB11 & SB17.

The students opposed to campus carry don't realize they could be allowed to carry on campus to defend themselves if it passed?? Do they not want to defend themselves? They apparently didn't hear the LEO testimonies that it takes time to respond to help them. In other words, bad guy encounter will be over by the time a rape victim gets to her phone, calls for help, and LEO arrives. I absolutely don't understand this mentality..

What does being a bisexual woman with epilepsy have to do with campus carry?
At least she admitted she has mental health problems. Probably not the way to gain credibility.

Tells me that maybe since she wouldn't qualify to legally carry, she's thinking that if other people can't legally carry, that'll be her defense?TVGuy wrote:What does being a bisexual woman with epilepsy have to do with campus carry?

Not! Bad guys on campus probably don't care about the laws.

could there be a problem with the fact that campus carry and open carry is doing the public testimony at the same time? are people seeing this as an all or nothing? that people are imagining that it's either open carry on campus or nothing?

They are speaking in regard to the bills. The unlicensed oc advocates are either speaking against licensed oc or asking that the current bill be amended to remove the licensing requriements.joe817 wrote:It seems as though most of what we are hearing now is repeating those that went before them.
