Nice. Multiple donors to the CHL's retirement fund.

I would have shot him and any other "hero" that attacked me. A choke hold is dangerous and not just because of possible suffocation.Jumping Frog wrote:I'll often walk with my weak side hand in my pocket, holding my knife. Personally, I think ALL of the people involved in disarming him should be in jail right now.

God Bless America, and please hurry.

As I am not a tacticool ninja with eyes in the back of my head and abs of steel i'd have probably been knocked down. I have no illusions about my capacities at my age and ability.

The problem as I see it is that I wouldn't know it was a mistake until after I drew and fired. Until I am made aware that it is a mistake, I am being attacked and someone is trying to take my gun.cb1000rider wrote:Personally, I'm not one to shoot someone over a mistake like that, . . .

As the date listed is yesterday's, I'd think that he's being held for evaluation.ELB wrote:So AndyC, does that mean he had been subject to something under the Baker Act prior to this incident, or does it mean that this incident is now going to get him an examination under the Baker Act? (I'm thinking the latter, but wouldn't surprise me if it turns out he has a history).

So what do you do if two people in Walmart are on the ground scuffling for a gun? You've got a 50/50 chance of getting it right.jimlongley wrote:Personally, I think ALL of the people involved in disarming him should be in jail right now.

Easy. While everyone is distracted, I move to the head of the checkout line. Mamma didn't raise no fool.

My thoughts exactly. Do you draw and issue commands for them to freeze? What if they don't heed your commands and one starts to take possession of the firearm? Do you shoot and risk killing one of the good guys?cb1000rider wrote:So what do you do if two people in Walmart are on the ground scuffling for a gun? Here's what you do, you call the cops and be a good witness.cb1000rider wrote:So what do you do if two people in Walmart are on the ground scuffling for a gun? Re: Man assaulted during Wally Walk
I agree completely. In fact I've looked at this video a few times, pondered the scenario where I am abruptly tackled from behind. The more I've thought of it, I definitely would have been slicing & dicing the doofus. If I am walking with my knife already in a hand in my pocket, I can deploy it way faster than my concealed handgun.rbwhatever1 wrote:...Anyone attacking me will receive the maximum response I'm able to give because I don't know how its going to end. ...

Re: Man assaulted during Wally Walk
Considering the only time I am going to Walmart is usually escorted. I think RAGINGWIFE1.0 would self deploy. God help him.
Re: Man assaulted during Wally Walk
In Texas if you are assisting in what you believe is a legal arrest, including citizens arrest, then you are acting within the law and the action of stopping someone in and of itself doesn't create a cause of action. Basically if someone yells "stop thief!" you don't get the blame if you stop the person and they didn't steal.cb1000rider wrote:So what do you do if two people in Walmart are on the ground scuffling for a gun? Yep, all are accessories, and all should be in jail....though the tackler should get the stiffest sentence and the biggest legal bills.jimlongley wrote:Lots of "What ifs" Like what if the CHL holder legitimately thought he was being attacked and drew and fired?

Also, this is one of those times where I hope the race card is played. Put this racist anti-gun nutball in prison where he belongs.
