moving counties with a suppressor

#1

Post by y5e06 »

Juts a quick question:
I'm very interested in picking up a suppressor, I've been putting it off for a long time.
Plan would be to go the Trust route. I currently live in Travis county but expect to move down to Hays county at the end of 2015; we are planning on building a house off of 967 and it wouldn't be complete until very late next year.

Are there any difficulties with such a move if I already have the can in hand? would I need to do anything in regards to the BATFE registration or local officials when swapping counties?

No notification is needed for intrastate moves. You do need to get permission from the ATF (form 5320.20) prior to transporting a machine gun, short barrel longarm or destuctive device interstate, but for silencers and AOWs no permission is needed even for interstate transport or moves.
