Makeup, earrings, there's all sorts of things that women wear that males have taken up. I'm thankful my dad was not just male but a man and I learned from him that men don't need them to be a man and males will never become men that way.

You guys need to read up on early America. They wore powdered wigs and makeup, breeches (essentially tights) and stockings that came up to their knees.

Some of y'all might really lose your minds if you knew that high heels were originally made for men.

Ummm, there is a difference between a riding heel on a man's boot and a spike heel on the wife's dress shoe.

This is very true today but the original high heels, that started the trend, and were very much unisex were created for men. BBC

Right. And as the article points out tall heels were developed for men to aid their warrior bad self on horseback. Quite manly. I'm gonna go put on my Tony Llamas.

I'm not disagreeing that there is a huge difference between a riding heel and a modern woman's high heel but the article I linked to points out that once men started wearing heels for horseback/military purpose women started wearing the exact same things because that was the trend of the day. Then male aristocrats started wearing them and turned them into impractical shoes and women started doing the exact same thing. The only difference is that once they became so impractical that they weren't worth the effort to wear; men stopped wearing them and women carried on. So while the shoes may be drastically different today they were created for men and without the military need women probably wouldn't be fawning over $3,000 heels I can't pronounce.:

When I was working one job that occasionally had me in front of a (still) camera or giving a presentation, I used to know my shade in a couple brands of concealer. It was one of those situations where a shaving nick or scratch could really stand out, so it was a lot easier to just take ten seconds to cover it up and blend a bit.

Well in my hippie days I had a hair practically to middle of my back. I wore it in a pony tail plenty of times.

How do you make a pony tail out of "a hair"? Is that akin to a comb over?

Overall, it sounds like most here think males wearing makeup not a bad idea.

WOW!

I guess I'm just not up with the times...

Good grooming and hygiene is one thing, but it would seem, most, certainly not all here, are accepting of males wearing makeup, so narcissism overall has really been accepted as the new O.K. norm....

I think the acceptance of metrosexualism repulsive, but apparently I'm in the minority.

Yes, I need some liquid foundation that will not only enhance my beauty, but match my skin tone and most importantly bring out the luster of my eyes...gag....

There seem to be two distinct discussions though. Men wearing makeup as a requirement of their work and males wearing makeup in general as a life choice. The former probably remove it at the first opportunity, for the most part anyway, and the latter, for the most part, presumably refresh periodically as any girl would.
