Males Are Now Wearing Makeup

#1

Post by Abraham »

I just finished a short article by Joel Stein in Playboy magazine, about how more and more male makeup is being produced and marketed to (ostensibly) straight men. And, they're wearing it. Gag! Who would've thunk it?

He went on and on about how much better skin looks with a certain amount of applied facial makeup, but no lipstick or blush as that would be just too much...and after all men use deodorant and cologne, why not makeup?

This makes me queasy...

If you're a guy and wear make up - Hand in your man card.

You're officially a metro-peacock, not a man.

Apparently, narcissism is now all the rage.

Heck, until I read the article, I didn't know such repellent things existed. I'm relatively worldly, widely read, but this, this is off the charts.

Do you know any men that wear makeup?

P.S. I don't include those who for medical reasons need to cover up some cancer removal scar or what have you. They aren't in the metro-peacock class.

Please revise your title to "Males Are Now Wearing Makeup". Not men.

although, I once used some sort of coverup on a giant pimple for prom photos a long, long time ago. It felt girly.

Carry a purse and put bells on your shoes for all I care. It has 0 effect on my life. Some people spend far to much time looking over there neighbors fence.

cheezit ,

O.K. - it's just a topic to discuss.

Me, I find males wearing makeup a startling new phenomenon, unless there's always been some underground metrosexual movement I knew nothing of finding it's way into the mainstream.

I find it weird/disturbing.

I can't imagine any male friend or relation for that matter wearing freaking makeup.

Gag...

What next?

Guys wearing women's frilly clothing in public?

What happened to guys being proud to be guys?

They were doing it when I was in high school.
Google emo guys.
So far as wearing womens clothes in public, well there was good ol' J Edger.
Lots of guys running around with body art.. just another form of makeup.
I just dont see an issue with being different. Even if that differnt isnt for me.

cheezit,

I hear ya.

Heck, I've got a chest mural that took 6 hours to tattoo in one session, so who am I to talk, eh?

Heck, maybe I'll shave off my beard and start wearing my wife's makeup.

Ugly as I am, couldn't hurt.

Except, I'm a meat eating, alpha male.

I'd rather be facially scarred, (I am actually, rather severely) but you couldn't put make up on me with 10 helpers and a trowel.

I was thinking the same thing. Makeup was used by guys in the late 80's by several different "groups" of people. Emo, Punk, Goth, etc. Personally it would just take way to much time to do the whole makeup thing but I have no doubt that I would look better, more even skin tone less blemishes and marks, with it. Just to dang lazy to even give it a thought. If someone else isn't lazy or if they want to do so because they are going out or to an event or having pictures taken then good for them. Personal my manhood isn't based on my lack of cosmetic use and if someone elses is? Why that is just sad.

You're welcome to mine if you can find it. I misplaced it years ago. Fortunately for me, women don't need a card to figure out I'm a man. The young lady half my age who slept over last night certainly didn't.

I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.
