It may have been John Lennon who started this debate. ;-)

From 1959, The Mystics - "Hushabye"
The Beach Boys did a remake in 1964.

Ok Go, Honda Robotics Uni-Cub, hundreds of young ladies, hundreds of multi-color umbrellas, One (1) GPS guided/gyro stabilized quad-copter camera platform filmed long shot. Cool.

As he famously started so many others....

A man gives thanks to an old girlfriend who dumped him for a guy who drove a pick-up truck.

The song, written by Tom T. Hall, is performed by Leo Kottke - "Pamela Brown"

Thank you for that, Bill. That was special. I haven't heard Leo Kottke's version of that song in a very long time.

Eva Cassidy covering a song written by Paul Simon - "American Tune"

A bit of history about this song which I did not know.
American Tune is based on a tune by Hans Leo Hassler.
JS Bach used it in his St. Matthew Passion.
The tune is still found in hymnals of many denominations today (Because All Men are Brothers).

It is a very touching song. Lyrics written by Texas Gospel singer, song writer, comedian Mark Lowry.

For some of the Leo Kottke fans on the forum:

Another JS Bach composition "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"

Jesu, joy of man's desiring,
Holy wisdom, love most bright;
Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring Soar to uncreated light.

Word of God, our flesh that fashioned,
With the fire of life impassioned,
Striving still to truth unknown,
Soaring, dying round Thy throne.

Through the way where hope is guiding,
Hark, what peaceful music rings;
Where the flock, in Thee confiding,
Drink of joy from deathless springs.

Theirs is beauty's fairest pleasure;
Theirs is wisdom's holiest treasure.
Thou dost ever lead Thine own
In the love of joys unknown.

I just discovered this Cyril Pahinui "Panini Pua Kea"
To my untrained ear, it sounds a lot like some of Leo Kottke's guitar playing.

I'd really like to hear this version by The Canadian Tenors or Il Devo.
