State Income Tax is another reason to keep your Texas Driver License and keep Texas as your Home State. Texas is one of the few states that has no State Income Tax. My experience was that buying a home and/or obtaining a Driver License in the state in which you are stationed makes you a resident of that state and subjects you to that state's income tax. Check with the legal office on your base or post.Danielc740 wrote:I'm currently waiting to recieve my CHL but I'm curious because although ill have a Texas License, I'm stationed in Kentucky. does it matter if I have a texas License? I was told that if you're in Kentucky for more than 140 days then my Texas License becomes null and void in Kentucky is there any truth to that? If so what can I do? such as have a CHL in 2 states?
