I've never found them to be cheaper than anyone else, never mind dirt, so was avoiding them already.

Theowner of the Fort Worth store front broke it off from "Cheaper Than Dirt" a few years ago, from what I'm told. The store was officially "Outdoors Adventures" and the corporate CTD merely employed the people that worked in the warehouse (and fronted a small warehouse counter that you might have not known was in the store unless you looked hard). Being co-located, it was hard to tell which entity was which.

When their contractual relationship was over, they (the owners of the FW store) boogied to the East side and now have a store at 1200 Eastchase Parkway, and are going by the name of Fort Worth Gun.

I don't know (and truth be told, don't really care) if CTD still occupies the warehouse portion of the building.

I always found CTD prices to be good, right up until the time that they charged about 20% more for S&H. Never bought anything from them because of this.

I have ordered from their catalog and they were unable to deliver. Price was great but they did not have the product. Was not going to use them again. Recently though I ordered some shotgun shells which I could not get locally and their price was good with good shipping. Transaction went smooth. Not my first choice with ordering. I too would do a credit card dispute if you don't see a rapid credit to your account.

When ammo was going out of stock and Wal-Mart was still selling it for the same price as before, CTD was gouging customers left and right.
Same goes for magazines...the price went through the roof.

I avoid them like the plague and encourage others to do the same.

I hate to admit it but I recently bought an item from them and only cause it was way cheaper than anywhere else. I bought a Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler (wet tumbler) cause they had it for 130 bucks when it was 185 everywhere else. Not sure if was a pricing error or what cause was only that price at warehouse 4, was 170 or higher at all the other warehouse's. Like many have mentioned after their shipping charges along with special handling fees they aren't really cheaper than others but since was on a budget and the price difference was that much I had to get it there. I much rather deal with midway or other suppliers though.

When I need an item that I cannot find at Cabelas or Amazon or Brownells/MidwayUSA. Then I check CTD and most likely they don't have in store. I drive to their store in McKinney and place on-line order and I get Free shipping too. However, last order took 1-week to get delivered.

I do not touch their ammo or any of their firearms.

I'll shop at CTD again as soon as they give me $90 trade in on a PMAG.

This and their funky separate warehouse pricing strikes me as odd and sometimes disingenuous.

There are better retailers out there that don't play games, I'd assume patronize them and maybe spend a few more dollars.

I'd take action ASAP, call up CTD again and demand a full refund and inform them you will be contesting the charge if they don't follow through immediately. This is one reason why I like having an AMEX card because they pretty aggressively defend their cardholders against merchant shenanigans.

I did buy four gun safe driers the other day from them because they were half of what everyone else wanted. I do not typically shop there.

I called VISA, "we'd like the cardholder to work it out w/ the merchant first". which puts me back waiting on CTD to get their behinds in gear.
