Cheaper Than Dirt & the ol Bait And Switch??

#1

Post by FuziDave »

(not sure where to post this and get advice, so put it here)

So I’m interested in the new Luger LC9s. and CTD has it for $321. Cool!! So Saturday I order one. Which means $321 + tax has already been charged to my credit card.

I keep checking back and “still processing your order”. I finally go to an online chat to see what’s going on. “Oh, they sold out. We are cancelling your order. You can order from another ‘warehouse’”. Well the next warehouse price is about $50 more. Smells like bait & switch!!!

So then I call because there is STILL a $321 charge on my card. “Well we’ll refund in 2 business days”, to which I said “that’s bull”. and “why won’t you honor the original price that YOU advertised and that YOU already took from me?!?”. “Well sir, we can’t do that.” To which I replied, “You CAN but you are choosing NOT TO!” which was met with silence then “is there anything else I can ‘help’ you with?”.

Is this worth a call to the Better Business Bureau?

CTD does not have a great reputation at this point.

Can you dispute it with your credit card company?

CTD is on my do not buy from list. Regardless of any deal they're offering.

immediately call your bank and put a dispute on this charge. you will not be billed or charged interest on this until it is resolved.

Call the BBB it might help. Dispute the credit card charge.

Bud's Gun Shop has the LC9s for $351 cash or $361.53 credit.

I've done a lot of business with Bud's and have yet to be disappointed. Good folks to do business with. :tiphat: :thumbs2: :tiphat:

They can reverse the charge, keep calling and stay on the phone until they do.

I bet someone didn't realize it was the new LC9S and listed it for the price of the LC9. Once they figured it out they said "oh, it's out of stock"...yeah it is, at that price.

I went round and round with them a couple of years ago over the "we are CTD, but we're not CTD" funny business. No thanks. Cancel my order. I'll find it some place else.

A second on Bud's. I've bought two through them with no problem whatsoever.

I started to order several items from them a few months back. Before I confirming my order, I realized the shipping charge was huge. Seems all my items were from different warehouses and they were charging a separate shipping charge for each one. I think I cut the order down to one item I wanted at the time. I don't typically order from them.

yes we went round and round. "why won't you honor your advertised price?", "well each warehouse has a different price.", "i didn't buy from a warehouse, i bought from YOU", etc.

I think, since they already charged your card, they should honor the price and provide the product rather than canceling, unilaterally.

I wonder if the loss of business is why they closed the Ft Worth store front.
