Laugh all the way you want. However, if you are in his shoes and no parts are to found anywhere, you will do same if not better.
BTW, send him an SVD part kit and he will be all set.

This is most likely make-shift shooting range for training and testing rifles.howdy wrote:I can bet the guy he is aiming at will not be laughing!!

Who needs all those extra parts anyway.

This should also lighten it up a bit.jmra wrote:Who needs all those extra parts anyway.

Looked again and don't see any hearing protection on anyone.

With nothing to anchor the recoil spring to, there would be nothing to stop the bolt's rearward travel.
Things could get rather exciting on the shooter's side if he decides to pull the trigger.

Everyone's quit listening to anyone else a long time ago, so why waste money?C-dub wrote:Looked again and don't see any hearing protection on anyone.

It looks to me like there is something there. The recoil spring wouldn't just sit there without something. I think it is obscured by his beard behind it.Excaliber wrote:With nothing to anchor the recoil spring to, there would be nothing to stop the bolt's rearward travel.

Looks like there's a string tied to the spring... And going down to the trigger. (Hmmm....)

Re: Having a problem with my rifle. Can someone help me?
You're right. It looks like the string is tied to the end of the spring guide that should go into a slot in the rear of the receiver, but here is tied further back to the stock. The other end is tied to the stock through the trigger guard. Without a channel to contain the spring as it compresses, I sure wouldn't put my face behind it and pull the trigger.brhalltx wrote:Looks like there's a string tied to the spring... Okey dokey there... I understand you gotta do what you gotta do but that looks dogy at best. I would not put my kisser behind that bolt and recoil spring and pull the trigger!
