So I received a call from DPS yesterday saying that my wife and I's application are currently processing and are on schedule to be completed and mailed by this friday. There is absolutely no change in my online status which is a bit fustrating so either DPS is just spinning me crap to get me to shutup or the online status is just not to be trusted sometimes. You would think that once your app is actually being processed the website would be updated and somewhat accurate, apparently not in my case, though I think there was someone else that said they received their license before anything was updated online.

We'll see what actually happens, but this is encouraging news.

I know many people who had their CHL in hand without ever seeing a status change.

So I need to keep an eye on my mailbox instead of my status!!! :thumbs2:

My wife and I submitted 5/12 and it was received in Austin 5/14. No updates for us either. Lots of us with the same scenario.

Just got an email from DPS saying to submit training documentation. I already did this on May 5th. Yes, I hit attached.
So then I get another email saying it would be another 6 weeks.
So submitted all on May 5th and now have another 6 weeks. Sounds like the latest in tactics for delaying applications for an agency that failed to plan and staff.

On the 60th day of waiting I will be sending congressman email asking why I am being withheld my CHL certificate.

I've seen where it's taken less than 1 month and I've seen where it's taken someone 4 months. So really there's no "Magic Number of Days" The thing I've learned here is, you get it when you get it!

New to the board and at 30 day wait time. I have read multiple posts of folks going to contact their representative at day 60 or 61 if they see no updates on the DPS website. I have already contacted my representative regarding the unacceptable wait period of 8 weeks. I ask people on here to contact their representative much sooner than 60 days to say that our great state is better than that and something needs to change. Just because DPS says 8 weeks is average wait time does not mean we have to accept it and if enough of us keep complaining then MAYBE something will be done.
