It never fails that my brother will redirect my finger when I'm talking about a place and point in the wrong direction (which is every time I point).

WildBill,

You're behind the times.

I heard this detestable chant regarding Secretary Rice cancelling her graduation speech at Rutgers.

A group of student (presumably) nitwits started in with the Hey, Hey, Ho, Hoing about her having to go...

A lot of unions go in the hey, hey, ho, ho garbage too.

I guess if it was good enough for the commies of the 70's, etc...

I freely admit that I am behind the times. :tiphat:

Maybe the Rutgers students learned the chant from their professors while getting their degrees in American Studies. :evil2:

Speaking of words that drive you up the wall ... isn't there an old saying from the 60s? Something about up against the wall?

WildBill,

Yes, and it sounds adequate for these times too!

BTW, I'm well behind the times too.

I re-proved it yesterday when I referred to a "rest home" and my wife, always ready to be indignant about the things I say, immediately corrected me.

They're no longer called that she said irately.

She said they're called "assisted living" and after those two words I forgot the rest.

She prefers euphemisms...

I told her they'd always be called 'rest homes' by me and at that point she just glared at me.

For some reason people can't seem to spell: QUIET

Instead they spell it: Quite
