Re: February 2014 Applications
I have to admit. Once my status changed to mailed I stopped checking my status online. I still want to (I think out of sheer habit) but I don't. I have been able to resist checking the mail 20 times a day. I know it will be a few more days but I have to admit when I do go get the mail I rifle through it looking for the magic envelope. One day soon. One day soon.

That's sheer will power right there! I will admit I did check back once more to make sure it wasn't a mistake. I also have the feeling I need to continue to check but I'm afraid to out of fear it may revert back to background check under review! I'm definitely looking forward to getting that plastic in my hands.

It won't be long now. We will both be taking the Wally Walk any day now...
I have been thinking about where I am going to take "the walk". I think I am just going to play it by ear and go where I need to go. It isn't the same for me. I have carried a firearm most of my adult life. Either as a former police officer or as an Infantryman during 4 deployments. I was trying to remember the first time I carried one in public and I just can't remember where it was. I do remember having the feeling of "can I really be carrying this?" and worrying if someone could tell. It didn't take long for it to be normal for me though. It was also strange when I couldn't again. Any ideas where your Wally Walk will be?

Re: February 2014 Applications
Been snooping around for a while now and i thought i would drop my $.02 on my situation...
I submitted all my paperwork online on Feb. 3. Today, April 17, I received my first update to MAILED. That's a little over 10 weeks or 70 some odd days. I emailed 4 times throughout this time frame, all with no response. Followed up with two different phone calls. Both I was told it could take up to 90 days for an update and my only option was to wait. However, I do think it was strange I received an update a day after my second phone call. I have no idea how these guys in the hill country are running this thing. Seeing how some folks submitted well after I did and received their's well before myself.

I can't help but thinking... Maybe they changed my status to mailed to keep me from checking the website so often? lol

Re: February 2014 Applications
Got it today. I'm passing on to my carrying friends, as soon as you get your notification to renew...do it. If we care enough to carry to protect our family, us, friends, and property, we don't need a procedure to keep us from carrying. Good luck everyone.rayj8524 wrote:While it took right at 90 days since I mailed it, couldn't find the online link till after I mailed it, good news arrived. January 17, mailed. Feb 7 check cleared the bank. Feb 24 received email of status change in 30-45 days. Three phone calls and 3 different delivery times told, I received status change April 8. Then this morning, what I have been waiting for:

Guess I'll do my wally walk, target walk and everything else. Been over 3 months since I've carried. Will feel good again.
Bottom line, it will come.
