22 Feb - CHL Class completed
23 Feb CHL application Online
25 Feb Finger Prints completed and uploaded all documents online.

April 9, 2014 No status update at all.

It's hard to find any sympathy in my home for the pain I feel waiting for my CHL.
Wife laughs when she sees me checking my application status while on the porcelain throne.
I feel like my kids don't respect me anymore since their friends dads have it already.
The finer things in life like beer or pork rinds have lost all flavor.
I get so angry when I open my wallet and see my stupid drivers license...why am I so different!!!
I've been doing my best to amass some good karma like avoiding running over squirrels or turtles, I've actually told my kids I love them, I even told the emo cashier at Wal-Mart she looked beautiful today and even that isn't enough to gain brownie points from the TxDPS folks.

Thank you for allowing me to open up, it's not easy for me to do this....now if you will excuse me I am off to watch Ellen.

Don't forget to record The View....I think they have some cool skit on knitting. "rlol"

Disclaimer: I have know idea what is playing on The View and if by chance they did have some skit on knitting.....it was pure coincidence. Now, I digress.

To late, it's recorded forever and you can never run from this...I hope you don't plan on running for office because this will cause you to lose.
Now if you will excuse me, I am off to have my chai tea.

Submitted everything Feb12th and still nothing this morning. I submitted my wife's on Feb.25th and she got her updates yesterday. I called this morning and kindly explained that it has been 8 weeks with no update. I was transferred to a specialist who had me email the documents to him and was told I should see an update tomorrow.

Now I get to live with my wife reminding me that she will probably get her license before me...

It usually only takes a day for mail to ship from one part of Texas to another. Not sure why it's taking four days or more to receive my card in the mail. Has anyone asked them why it takes so long to mail plastic? Is it coming from Austin?
Mine said mailed Saturday 4/5 which means it was at least put into an outbox Friday. As of today Wed, 4/9 the mailman has come and gone and no plastic and I was thinking certainly it would be here by today. I'm like you I thought stamped mail could get anywhere in TX within a day, especially between Austin and Dallas. Are these printed outside of TX?

It seems like they are printed outside of Texas as long as it's taking. But maybe they don't mail them out until they get a large number of them at one time. For instance, if they have two or three ready to go on Monday, maybe they won't mail those out until they have quite a bit more processed and ready to ship. That's my rationale and I am going to stick with that. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to take 5 days to receive something from Texas if I live in Texas. My IRS bill seems to get here on the SAME day they've put it in the envelope :cryin :waiting:

Regular mails from USPS is 3-7 days even in TX. Plus I am sure it sometimes can sit in the outbox for 1-4 days at DPS (I have seen a lot of posts on here with stamps 3-4 days after their status changed to mailed).

I got my plastic in the mail today. I think I am super lucky as this is a very quick turn around time (based on what I am reading on the forum). Here's my timeline:

CHL course: Feb 23
Created online application: Feb 23
Finger prints: Feb 27
Mailed out complete application: Feb 28 (used priority mail with certified return receipt)
Received at Austin on: March 3 (I got the return receipt later)
No Status update till April 3/4 - called DPS they said not to expect any status update till two months :mad5
First (and only) status update: April 7 (I was not checking for status updates every day but was still doing it quite often) - it said TX CHL mailed out (I seriously thought that it is a mistake)
Received my plastic today: April 9!!! Sweet! :txflag:

In all 40 days from mailing out application to receiving plastic.

Good luck to everyone.
