Today March 12th the web site finally updated. Just still shows "background check under review (all other important stuff green).
So it looks like they are getting to Feb now.
Today March 15th her status changed to background check complete, manufacturing pending.
And today March 16th it changed to " Manufacturing".

Nothing against the unbelievably lucky OP who scored the plastic in such short time (congratulations again, BTW), but being told to expect long waits that range from 30 to 120 days or more due to state bureaucracy would be understandable and easier to deal with if applications were processed as they are received (in fairness to all applicants). But seeing things like this can be upsetting to many, many people who applied long before the OP.

Sorry...Wasn't gloating about the lucky turn around time. Was just excited to get it.

No need to apologize for something that you had no control over. Just stating that bureaucratic randomness can be frustrating.

Jan 29 Online application
Jan 31 Fingerprints
Feb 12 CHL Class including Shooting Test
Feb 12 Submission of docs online
Feb 18 Notification didn't upload documents (even though I realized on 2/12 that I forgot to attach them the first time and submitted again on 2/12)
Feb 18 Re-submission of docs online... again
Feb 23 Notification that documents were uploaded successfully and sent to CHL Specialist
March 7 & 14 Sent Email to make sure re-submission of docs was received (no response)

I've had no updates to my status throughout. It still says "awaiting the required documents..." online. I have tried to call numerous times in the last week and I get a recording that says call volumes are high and it hands up on me. Is anyone else getting this? I can't even get through to talk to a human.

**Update: I just called again and it says the wait time is 25 minutes. I'm going to sit tight and see if I can talk to a human.**

**I did get through to a human on 3/17 when I called. He was quite rude and dismissive. I quickly explained that my documents didn't upload the first time and wanted to make sure everything was there. He cut me off and asked "When did you submit?". I told him it was in February. I barely got "February" out of my mouth when he cut me off again. "It's WAY to soon for you to be calling here. It takes at least two months for your status to show online." I bit my tongue and politely asked if he could please just make sure all of my items are there. He asked for my drivers license number and said "Yes, everything is here. That's all I can tell you. Goodbye" and he hung up.

It really baffles me that the folks there find it necessary to be so rude. I know they're busy. I know there are a ton of applications. I get it. I'm just trying to make sure they have everything that is needed to proceed. I am moving in early June and I want to make sure I get it so I don't have to deal with an address change in the middle of process this thing. Very very frustrating.

Well I finally talked to someone who cares - Rebecca. She actually investigated my file that has been received since Jan 29th. She was unable to open my jpeg files that contain the papers required. She had me email the info directly to a supervisor who will let me know in the next hour if he can open the files and proceed. To the two idiots that I talked to previously, well I don't really want to type what I think of them. Persistence I guess is the key. Took several times of calling till I was able to get on the waiting line this afternoon. Nelson

The supervisor has already responded and will have this taken care of today or in the morning. That is service.
Now back to the real waiting game.

22 Feb 14 Class
26 Feb 14 Online application
28 Feb 14 FP and Package sent (snail mail because I thought the online was only for renewals)
as of today no response if they have received my package

Does anyone know if they send anything to acknowledge that they have received the paperwork? try emailing the site but it will not me submit the question and calling them is ridiculous (I have tried calling for the past 3 business days and get the same recording "...too busy try again later")

To those that called and got someone helpful that took charge of their file. Did you keep calling until you got someone helpful or just get lucky? I called today, its been a month since I sent my stuff in. After several tries where it said we are busy, call back another time, and then a 15 minute wait I got someone who was very friendly but did nothing to help me. He just said they are currently up to mid January and to call back in another 30 days. what the heck?! I wouldn't mind paying a little more to speed this process up.
