51% liquor store ?
My wife and I went to a Liquor store this afternoon ,before going in I disarmed thinking the store was posted . While walking in I scanned the door way, the only thing I noticed was the unlicenced possession posting . My question is , is the 51% sign only for a buisness where alcohol is consumed and not just sold?

If you call the nearest Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission office and report your observation, I bet they will send someone out to check it out - and they will have the proper sign in place after that.

He observed they posted the unlicensed possession sign. That's what they're supposed to post at a liquor store.Greybeard wrote:If you call the nearest Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission office and report your observation, I bet they will send someone out to check it out - and they will have the proper sign in place after that.

Re: 51% liquor store ?
The 51% is a TABC sign that indicates that 51% or more of the sales revenue comes from alcohol consumption. It is also called the TABC Red Sign. Liquor stores and restaurants (that make most of their money on food but sell alcohol for consumption) will have a TABC Blue sign ("unlicensed possession"). Neither of these have anything to do with a 30.06 sign, which is the choice of the property owner, while the TABC sign is mandatory.
You can look up an establishment's license on the TABC web site to verify what signage is required, and if they are displaying the wrong sign, you can file a complaint.
