Hi everyone,
My wife wants to get her CHL but she feels she's unprepared. Apparently I make her nervous, so she doesn't want any instructions from me.
Is there any womans "intro" class in the DFW are that is recommended? preferably closer to FW...
Thanks

Re: Womans shooting class
You might try something like this: http://www.agirlandagunclub.com/find-a-chapter/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It looks like there are a few chapters in the D/FW area. I've never been part of one of the A Girl And A Gun groups, but I'm a member of what I believe is a similar group and it's been great for getting going as a beginning shooter.
And just a side note: not wanting instruction from you is nothing to take personally. I love my husband and I enjoy shooting with him, but when I was first getting started I preferred not to have him around. When I'm trying to learn something new, I prefer to do it by myself until I've built up some confidence. I even sent him away when I was doing dry fire exercises at first, because it made me feel self-conscious. I'd let her get her instruction elsewhere, and you can be her shooting buddy once she feels more comfortable. :)

Re: Womans shooting class
don't feel bad, most men make their wives "nervous"....I really don't think it's that so much as a fear of "failing" in front of their man. I still get flustered with him around sometimes.

Ladies,
Thank you very much for your responses.
Don't worry about me, I've been married for 16 years, I understand the way I learn and do things is very different from the way she does. If we were both identical in every way one of use would be redundant. :D
Tracy, I love your signature. I'm stealing it. :D

Ah, you're an old pro, then -- congrats on 16 years! Looking forward to getting there myself.

Try shootsmart. I remember vaguely that they had a intro to handguns taught by a female instructor and a chl class as well. They have a location in FW as well as GP.
