When I e-mailed my paperwork in back in November, it took about 3 days to get a confirmation e-mail stating that my documents were received and forwarded to the appropriate person. Don't worry, it will get to them. Three days is a short wait compared to the 60-90 days it takes to get the license.. :(

I'm guessing the time difference between email submission and snail mail is minimal in the grand scheme of things.

When you submit your paperwork online you have to 1) select the files then 2) click upload then 3) click submit. Are you sure you are doing the upload step? It should change your file names to green text, and I could see how it would be easy to miss this step.

OMG you are right I did not upload the actual form. No wonder I never got a good email back. Thank you so much for sharing that tip. :txflag:

This what I see when I check my status:

License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.

As far as I can tell, based on other threads in this forum and other friends experiences, it will remain with status until they actually begin working on it.

My friend here at work submitted his paperwork back in October and it showed that same status until Thursday of last week. The following day the status changed again to show "mailed". He received it yesterday.

At the current rate (it look like most of the October group is getting there's now) I should expect to see an update by late March. :banghead:

Let the waiting begin!

Please Lord, grant me the patience... :totap:
The only email my wife and I received after uploading/emailing the documents was simply this "Thank you for contacting the Texas Department of Public Safety". Not exactly a confirmation they received the forms. But, it's only been about two weeks for me and four weeks for my wife.

I got the message you mentioned initially and then about another hour later I got the following:

"Thank you for using the Regulatory Services Division’s website.

New here... I submitted my paperwork online. I got an automated response the next day, but it was not the same as the above response. The one above says "This information will be forwarded to a CHL Specialist for review", mine did not say that. Now I'm concerned that I uploaded to the wrong place on the website? Can someone provide me a link to the proper place to upload?

Here's what mine says
Hello,

The Texas Department of Public Safety - Regulatory Services Division received your request for assistance and we look forward to serving you. Your patience is appreciated while we research and follow up on your specific needs. Please allow sufficient time for a complete response.

Visit us online at http://www.dps.texas.gov/RSD" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for answers to frequently asked questions, downloadable forms, application status updates or to email additional questions. this is where I submitted: http://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (and chose "concealed handgun" from the dropdown list

it is the only place on the website I have been able to find to upload forms.

Anyone have a link to another place on the website?

That is the right location. But, be sure you click the "upload" button for the documents before you click the "Submit" button. The first time I submitted without uploading and only got the generic "thanks for contacting" email. Later, I went back and did it again. But, this time I click the upload button before the submit button. The file name was in green saying it uploaded successfully. I then clicked the submit button. I then received two emails, one simply stating something like "thanks for contacting" and another a couple of hours later telling me the file I submitted was received and would be forwarded to a CHL specialist.

Hope this helps,
