And..... GO!

Hi. New Member here. My bride and I took our CHL classes last Saturday. Jan 4. Fingerprint appointment Monday Jan 13.

We are eligible for the 'rural area' fingerprint exclusion but did not want the extra delay of having to send off for the fingerprint kit and wait to receive them in the mail before making a visit to the sheriff's office. Who knows how much time that would add to the process. So, we are driving 50 miles one way to get printed.

Hope to have the CHL sometime in the Spring.

Wife, sister, co-worker, and I took the class this past weekend. Finger prints are scheduled for today. I'm going to stop by the post office afterwards and off everything goes! I'm already dreading how long of a wait it's going to be to get my license...

You can save yourself some time if you upload using their website. They actually prefer people to do it this way. It will cut a few days off the mailing and processing time

I submitted mine and my wife's online today and received confirmation emails back on both indicating the paperwork was received. I agree the online submission is faster (same day), cheaper (free), and it comes with receipt confirmation. Why wouldn't you submit it online?

Let the waiting begin!

Please Lord, grant me the patience... :totap:

The only email my wife and I received after uploading/emailing the documents was simply this "Thank you for contacting the Texas Department of Public Safety". Not exactly a confirmation they received the forms. But, it's only been about two weeks for me and four weeks for my wife.

I got the message you mentioned initially and then about another hour later I got the following:

"Thank you for using the Regulatory Services Division’s website.

We have received the documents attached to your email. This information will be forwarded to a CHL Specialist for review and processing. For more information on CHL status changes and updates visit http://www.DPS.Texas.gov" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or go to the Status Check link. Please allow staff sufficient time to continue processing these documents.

For security reasons, please do not respond to this email. Should you need further assistance, please return to our web page at Contact Us to securely submit additional inquiries. To help us better serve you please copy and paste any previous messages into the new message.

Respectfully,

Dannette

I sent my paperwork in twice and just got the generic email. I don't understand why I did not get a conformation email from them. Plus the web page has been down for the last 2 days :rules: :rules: :rules: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
