So I e-mailed DPS all of my documents & they were confirmed by an e-mail response saying that they were in fact received on the 22nd of October. I checked this afternoon and my license is in the "Manufacturing Pending" step now. Everything is pretty much green & my background check is done. Just for those of you who had their documents confirmed as received around that time! I am now at the 67th CALENDAR day (not business). So all of you who know that your documents were in fact received around that time, here's to you & all of us!

My package was received 29 October. I'm currently at 60 Days.
Maybe I'll hear something next week.

Good news??? My renewal will be due in 2018 instead of 2017. :grumble

I spoke to a couple of CHL instructors at the Waxahachie gun show who claimed their classes have been packed since the reduction in the class time. Looks like the CHL ranks are growing big time. With that growth comes pain. Be patient, this too will pass.

74 days from mailbox to mailbox! Hopefully this gives others an idea of when they should see their license. :txflag:

Submitted my renewal on 10/29/13 online. I called in a few days later to confirm they had everything they needed (this renewal process is a bit too easy now!). They confirmed they did. A month later when there was no change in my status and the site said "waiting on documentation" I called in again. The rep I spoke to was very courteous and reassured me that they did have everything and no further action was required from me. Since my original doesn't expire until Feb of next year I decided just to let it be and quit bothering them. :) Well guess what was mailed to me on 12/24/13. Yep. Got my new plastic in hand now. Much faster than my original wait (about 6 months). Best $72.00 I've spent this year!

Lady L, the renewals seem to be processing a little faster than the new applications. I am confident you will see an update this week based on the time line you submitted your packet.

OK, application submitted 10/17/13...
Still stuck on the "Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials."

I am losing my mind!
I tried calling today and all i got was an automated message that they are too busy to answer any calls...

Anyone have any clue? This is getting tedious!
