Revolver Carry

I am curious - anyone here EDC a revolver and if so make/model and how you carry it? Lately, I have been entertaining the idea of going from pistola to revolver.

I switch between my 9 mm Beretta PX4 SC and my .38 Spl Colt Detective Special. I carry both OWB. I have Kramer Leather horsehide MSP Paddle holsters for each gun.

Since my son learned to walk, run, struggle, say no, etc I had to switch to something smaller and lighter than my glock 19. So I've got my father in laws S&W air weight .38 on semi permanent loan. I've been carrying it for 9 or so moons and it's been great. Easily conceals iwb or in pocket. Easy to take off belt and put in car (i travel to schools often for work). Sure it's only 5 rounds but 5 rounds on my hip is better than 15+1 in the safe at home.

I've been giving this some thought too, but then I would have to go buy a revolver as I currently don't own one. I did have a couple some years ago but sold them. Buying a new gun right now is not in the cards for me at this time. Maybe later.

When I do think about a revolver as a EDC, I keep falling back to the SA because of the capacity differences.

Same for me. My Colts are six-shooters, rather than the 5 shots of most smaller revolvers, but six isn't as good as the 13 in my Beretta.

If I carried a revolver it would be as a bug more than likely boot carry.

I carried a S&W PD342 38special for years. Ankle on duty as backup and off duty. That is the one gun I really regret selling. Shorts and a t-shirt were no problem. I carried it in a clip draw http://www.clipdraw.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I tried that clip draw with a glock 27 and did not like it, but on the revolver it was great.

more often then not i could be found with a mdl 36 s&w in nickle plate finish.
its better to have a gun that you will always carry then one that sits at home.

pocket carried a Ruger LCR .357 every day for awhile, and carry a S&W 642 .38 a lot. Can't beat a gun that's lightweight and you can throw in your front pocket.

SW model 66 4" w/ CT grips, strongside OWB in either El Paso crosshair or Hume JIT, pick 2-6 box reload. Hand problems have forced a return to a revolver. When I cannot dress around the Smith (rarely) I put my little KT P380 in my pocket w/ extra mag and go about my business.

my first carry was a revolver. probably carried it for a year....

if I could afford one of those pink or lav revolvers, I think they're charter arms, I'd probably consider going back to one.

I carry a 1st Generation Charter Arms Undercover .38Spl. At first, I carried front-pocket w/ an Uncle Mikes holster; then I discovered that IWB appendix-carry was very comfortable. I'm using an old Safariland IWB clip holster now, but I'm looking for a good, tuckable holster...possibly a Bianchi or a Desantis.

....but I'm also thinking about upgrading to a neat little SP-101 .357Mag 3"....or a Charter Arms Pit Bull in .40S&W....or even a CW40 or Shield .40S&W....choices are hard...

I carry G27 most days, but walk each night with Ruger LCR in a IWB clip holster. It's so light that it doesn't pull down my workout shorts.

I carry a S&W 637PC Deep Cover/Wyatt/Gunsmoke J frame. Took off the clip grips and carry in a belly band or pocket holster. Sometimes if clothing permits I carry a Glock 19 in an OWB holster (High Noon Snapper or a DeSantis).
