Re: Introduce yourself
Welcome MustangTexas. I guess by your name that you are either interested in cars or horses - maybe both. I prefer the four wheeled version myself but to each his own. I think you will find the site both informative and entertaining. Glad to have you on board.

Re: Introduce yourself
New guy here. I stumbled over this site while researching my CHL renewal. I had let it lapse for several months because they wanted me to provide proof of citizenship because I was born overseas (my dad was in the military) even though I was a US Citizenship and did not have to provide it the first time. Took a while for me to get that straightened out and I had to get my Passport renewed. Very long story. Anyway I finally got around to registering here after spending a few days looking around and I liked what I saw.
So a litle about me.

System Analyst for a financial company

Just started my fifth year of CHL possesion and my first renewal
Currently I carry any of the following depending on the activity and weather:
Kimber Custom II
(2) Kimber Ultra Carry's (Tactical and a recently acquire Stainless Steel)
Ruger LCR .357 Magnum
I use almost exclusively Comp-Tac holsters and I've owned maybe a dozen in the past for various guns but I'm down to three now (Locking Paddle and C-TAC for the 1911's and a 2 O'clock for the LCR). I recently acquire a Mitch Rosen holster that someone was selling BNIB for the LCR and it will be my first leather holster. Can't wait to try that out.

Married 2 kids

Posted a question about Fair Park Music Hall signage on another thread. Most recent post from April of this year said there were still no 30.06 signs. Anyone been more recently? I plan on at least pocket carrying. Thanks!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hello everyone, Tim here.
I've been reading the site for about a month now and finally decided to introduce myself, I'm hooked!
36
Purchasing Agent/ currently completing my bachelors in computer engineering tech.
CHL- already applied w/ the state, I take my class this Sunday and next weekend I have my finger printing session.
My carry gun will be a Ruger SR9C, with either a Mr. Softie or a Little Foxx holster.
As a kid I shot briefly but growing up I got out of it through the years. My enthusiasm with firearms abruptly rekindled over the summer when my mother passed and I received my grandfathers old "new model" Ruger Blackhawk .357 6-1/2" barrel. Once I had the revolver in my hand it was love at first touch, instantly I wanted at least one firearm of every caliber, I haven't been that excited since I was a kid. In the past months I've watched endless youtube videos and I check the forums every day. I'm also hooked on checking tgt/armslist/gun broker to see what's for sale (don't want to miss a great deal) and constantly watching the fluctuation of ammo prices. It is almost as if Pandora's box was opened but nevertheless I'm loving every minute of it.
I've taken the SR9C to the range about 3 times within the last two weeks and I need to figure out how to shoot more. With today's 9mm prices it's hard to afford to shoot as much as I want to, so I am beginning to look into reloading. I want to shoot everyday but cannot afford to...I just have to hold out for about 5 months until the car is paid off and I will have more expendable income, can't wait!
And thank you everyone for all the advice and tips!
