Bill of Sale

#1

Post by chrish20202 »

I got several guns from my grandfather's estate. The executor already has all my information (DOB, SSN, etc) since he has been managing my investments all my life. Is there any reason NOT to get a Bill of Sale? I want to be able to clearly show how and when I got them should any of them turn out to have a shady past.

Thanks. Chris

If he and the guns are in Texas, no need for a bill of sale

Were these gifts from his estate? They wouldn't have a bill of sale.
I'm sure the executor can generate a letter citing the gift of items from your grandfather's estate. That shouldn't be an issue.
