Travel to Nebraska

Post by degmon »

I'm old, and slow, but usually carry.
Without carrying on my person, how do I comply with Nebraska law?
I'm planning a trip there this summer for a reunion of my wife's family, and it appears that Oklahoma and Kansas present no problem.
Like the AMEX card, I won't leave home without it.
Sorry, but detailed research via this electronic mass media is challenging to me. Faster to consult you guys who are gifted and not low on the learning curve.

Your "no guess, no bull" input will be greatly appreciated by this old guy.

Thanks a million,

Thanks paradriver. Giving it a shot this morning. I also just created an account on the Nebraska CCW board and asked the question. I'm hoping there might be a "Cornhusker Charles Cotton" up there who will chime in.

How about a link to the NE CCW board. I travel there frequently to visit family .

I second that, I keep searching for a Nebraska gun forum and come up empty. I have family up there, my brother recently got his CCW so if I visit up there, I told him that he'll have to protect me as well since there is no reciprocity.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

url shows up as http://p207.ezboard.com/bccwnebraska

You will have to create an account with ezboard----free, of course.

Navigation wasn't simple for a challenged senior, but I made it. After you create the account, like many others, you will receive an e-mail which will require you to authenticate, then posting rights are extended.

Got there by Googling Concealed Carry in Nebraska.

Whew..............Now I need to find a beginners game of PacMan.

Thanks degmon, I've been looking it over. It's fascinating and frustrating... They seem so far behind in the CCW legislation and are facing many uphill battles. It's great to be in Texas right now. It's eye-opening to see how far we've come, I wasn't around when Texas first passed CCW but I'll bet there were some parallel obstacles. Being the latest state to join the CCW crowd, they seem like infants in the world of self-protection.
They do, however, have open carry, but that has some pitfalls as well, I understand.

I'm going to familiarize myself with the forum and probably join up. It is the state I grew up in and I visit often.

Wow. Looking at the discussions on that forum, I feel sorry for those folks. With every city and town able to make stipulations on carry, They have a huge list of town when CCW is either illgal or limited, and they're all different. What a mess! It looks like a couple of the cities around my family's farm (Lexington, Kearney) have restrictions on carrying. Then there's Omaha and its surrounding areas...

I really hope they change the law to get rid of this nonsense! From the looks of it, the carry laws are getting even worse up there.
