Mag showing legal?

#1

Post by SSAllen63 »

I have a pair of shorts that have a little pocket perfect for carrying a spare mag. I carry a Glock 26 with a 12 round mag in it. I use to carry a 15 round extra mag. Recently I started carrying a 17 round mag as an extra. I noticed today the top of the mag was showing. I started wondering is this legal? I mean I'm not showing my gun. Just a magazine. Thoughts?

No problem other than it tips folks off that you might be carrying a weapon. Nothing illegal about open carrying magazines or bullets. Heck... I carried a magazine of 45 ACP into the Plano Traffic Court. Dropped them in the basket with my keys and the security officer looked in the basket and handed it to me with not a word about the rounds.

Don't try that with the TSA.

Legal yes, but the type of incident that may result in a man with a gun call.
