Re: Introduce yourself
Hello! I'm a fairly new CHL holder of 9 months. Just recently started carrying more often. I feel I need more confidence with my weapon (in classes with an active LEO) and information on carrying, which is why I'm here. I've been browsing this site for a while to make sure it is someplace I can feel comfortable in asking newbie questions or posting newbie point of view. I have learned so much already! I feel certain if anyone saw me, I would be the last person they'd expect to be carrying, which is a good thing.

Proud to finally be on American soil again after many years overseas, but shocked & scared of the changes I see!
CC a Taurus 32 with hollow point ammo.

If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Re: Introduce yourself
Hey Everyone!
I am fairly new to the forum. I have read posts since last year, but just decided to get involved (officially) recently. I applied for my Texas CHL last month. I am an app developer and I am originally from Baltimore, MD. I decided to move here because I was tired of the northeast.
Happy to be in Texas and VERY Happy to be a part of TexasCHLForum.com!

Re: Introduce yourself
My name is Johnathan Taylor and my nickname is actually BMF.
I am 33 from Anton Texas
I graduated from LCU with a Bachelors in Social Work and currently work for Covenant Medical Group.
I am in the process of waiting for my CHL which should be here around the end of JULY.
I have a Sig P238 and Glock 30s for carry depending on clothing, climate, and conditions.
When I hunt I open carry a Springfield XD 45 Tactical for pigs, snakes, and anything else that may want to eat me.
My wife will be introduced to the forum soon as she did everything along my side.
She will carry a Ruger SP101 because she likes the simplicity of a revolver though we both qualified with a Gen 4 Glock 21.

Hello
Hi, my name is Roy. I'm a retired Navy crypto tech and former correctional and parole officer, current probation officer, and a counselor in training at Texas Wesleyan. I live in Johnson County, with my wife, five kids, and two dogs. (They're two of the laziest animals I've ever seen, but they're big and they let us know when people have come in the yard). I've had my CHL for three years, and I prefer revolvers. I've got two NAA minis, a Taurus Model 85, and a S&W 640 Pro-Series (my favorite). I also have a Ruger LC9, a Bersa Thunder .380, and a Czech surplus VZ-82. I'm not big on tacticool gizmos, I do not entertain Mall Ninja fantasies, and I believe that anything from .22wmr to .45ACP is gonna ruin any thug's day. I'm a pipe (tobacco) smoker, I enjoy fishing, and I like to hit the gun range at least once a month.

Re: Introduce yourself
male, 62, getting ready to retire, chl several years, love hunting the rockies and trout fishing
weapons, to many to list right now 50+ mostly are collectibles, or hi end handguns, and long guns have been in family for 60 to 70 years, one in family since my grandfather got around 1890, a colt saa 1873 ser # 35xxx, all matching #,s. most everything has been shot less than a box shells, or not shot at all.
any way I am starting to liquidate inventory, one sold so far, a kahr cm9 the other day, my personal carry, but I have a mk9 I like better. I have been listing a few guns at a couple of forums somewhat responsive but, my father before he died made me promise to never sell to bottomfeeders, or lowballers , as he called them. I will try and respect his wishes. anyway I have 3 to 5 years to sell these items - since no family or worthy heirs - I will sell them to worthy people that want them for future investment purposes, at least I hope it would out that way. 4 to 10 will probably sold at top tier collectible auctions (domestic/international)
I plan on asking some advice on how to liquidate my collection, but this has to be about reaping the rewards of our family collecting for years - and providing extra retirement income - have not found a dealer worth working with in the dfw area

New to Texas, work for a defense contractor. Did a lot of overseas work before heading here. For carry its usually a Glock for me. I like to tinker and have some ARs I'd like to learn to build some day.
