April Application

Hello- I've been reading through everything and wanted to post a time frame response.
I mailed paperwork for myself and my husband off on 4/26. His updated to "Mailed" on the 28th. Mine updated to "Mailed" today (5/31) So we are at 5 weeks. We should have ours by next week if he doesn't get his Saturday. I don't know when they actually drop them in the mail.

And I have purchased 2 guns from a dealer in a week's time. The most recent was the week of mailing my paperwork off.

Just curious if you got your plastic in the mail yet? My status went to Mailed as well on 05/31, have not received in the mail yet.

My timeline is as follows:
Mailed package: 4/8/2013 (fingerprints were completed prior to sending package)
Confirmation of Receipt: 4/16/2013
Background check under review: 5/16/2013
As of 6/5/2013 still in background check under review.

Couple of thoughts:
Curious as to when the initial status of receipt updates certain ones reflect fingerprints complete others reflect fingerprints under review and whether this affects timeiine?
Also, From reading various posts, it seems that since Memorial day the pace has slowed, especially updates on the weekend. Overtime/Staffing on the weekends been reduced?

You can't help but come up with questions when all you can do is sit back and wait....still pending...still pending...

I have been in background review since 5/19.

My theory is my file is sitting on the desk of the person who attended a son's / daughter's college graduation the week before Memorial Day and then took the entire family on a three week cruise to the Bahamas.

Smason. I never thought of that option but I like it. Sounds very plausible. I wonder if they have a PENDING REVIEWERS RETURN FROM BAHAMAS status built in their automated system. Something tells me there are a couple like that they forgot to build in

03/25/13 Online Application completed
03/30/13 Fingerprint Appointment
04/02/13 Snail mailed papers
05/12/13 DPS Website Status Update
06/05/13 Background Check: Completed
Now hopefully manufacturing and printing takes a day or 2 then to stalk the postman

Sounds like I am in that same time frame. Austin received my packet on 4/3 too. I wish they would hurry up. I am going to be on vacation starting the end of next week and I wanted to have my chl license by then.

4/4/13 Packet Received by DPS in Austin
4/8/13 "Fast" Fingerprints Submitted
5/12/13 Online Status changed from "Awaiting Receipt..." to "Application Received, Background Check Under Review"

6/5/13 Background Complete. License Manufacturing. 62 days after DPS received the packet.

... now we're getting somewhere!

My wife and I went on vacation today; to our great disappointment, of course, we left town with our CHL applications still in the background check/under review status.

The world has changed so much ... out here camping in the national forest, my phone can still access the Internet. So that means I can log on to the DPS site from the deep woods and see that my application is STILL pending.

ALLLL RIIIIIIGHT!!!!! From our campsite this morning ... Update: Background check completed, CHL manufacturing. 63 days since materials received by DPS. Very happy, and keeping our fingers crossed for our fellow applicants in the approximate same time frame.

Finally. Mine says manufacturing pending. 63 days after they received it. It will not be long now.
