4/30/13- Status Finally Changed on Texas.gov (*Background Check: Under Review)
5/4/13- Still Waiting

UPDATE On My CHL:
Background Check Changed
5/16/13 -Background Check Completed; CHL- Manufacturing Pending
5/17/13 - CHL Mailed O YEAH!
There is "HOPE", but only when accompanied by "Patience." Good Luck Everyone Else!

I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Here's my update:

4/5 - Submitted Online Application
4/6 - Took Initial CHL class with proficiency test
4/9 - Electronic fingerprinting completed
4/9 - Mailed the rest of the required materials to the DPS (opted for them to use my DL photo instead of submitting passport photos)
4/10 - Received confirmation of delivery to the DPS
5/14 - First status update on the DPS website (Background Check: Under Review)
5/19 - Second status update on the DPS website:

Application: Received
Fingerprints: Complete
Affidavits: Received
DL or ID: Valid
Citizenship: No Documentation Required
Passport Photo Holder: Received
Photo: Received
Proof of Classroom Training: Received
Proof of Proficiency Training: Received
Fee: Received
Background Check: Completed
Concealed Handgun License: Manufacturing Pending

Hopefully the card will be printed on Monday or Tuesday, and then it's just a matter of waiting for the mail... Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the amount of time this has taken. Looking at other posts, I know that it could have been a lot longer! Good luck, and stay patient!

I only check on Mondays to prevent myself from going crazy with checking the status. I also chose to have them use my TDL instead of mailing in a passport photo and wrote "Please use TX DL Photo" on the photo form.

I'm hoping it gets mailed out today... It shouldn't take long to print the card (assuming the status listed on the website is accurate). If they send it out today, I may be able to get it by Friday. If it gets mailed tomorrow, I'll hope for it on Saturday. It would be nice to have it for the weekend, especially since there will be no mail delivery on Monday (Memorial Day)!

From what Ive seen around here once DPS site updates to mailed it takes another 2 days before its actually mailed. Mine said mailed on 5/15 but was postmarked on 5/17, I got it in my hand 5/20.
