Interesting sign

Post by jbirds1210 »

Such a shame that they went through all of that trouble to make a meaningless sign.

It does look like a place I would like to have visited....no chance of that happening now.

Uh oh...

Bet they have shoe phones and everything...
The Official company title for a Railroad Police Officer is Special Agent...not sure where it comes from but am sure it is somewhere in railroad history. Been working for the railroad for 26 years and haven't thought much about it.
Just call 'em "cinder dicks" (as in, "detective"). They just love that!

That's your choice, of course, but if it's clearly not a legal sign then you're not really "testing" anything. It's the same as if I went into a gas station with a ghostbusters no-gun sign.

Except that they have what I believe are their own commissioned peace officers who might view the bosses sign differently and may be inclined to arrest you, whereas the local city PD may not.

Also I am not so inclined to lose my job while I fight it.

Looks to Me Like No One Can Enter

Post by ScottDLS »

Except peace officers...The way the sign is worded it appears that it forbids anyone who is not Peace Officer to enter at all OR carry a handgun. Wow, I wonder how you employees enter without getting arrested by the dreaded railroad police.

I remember when I applied with Mo-Pac. At least in those days, I think they carried special Texas Ranger commissions.

I wonder if that type of sign is to appease the anti-gun crowd? But if that was the case why not just put up a meaningless gun buster sign?
