Alot of people are in BG check for nearly a month, some are in it for a week. There is no logic or pattern when dealing with DPS.
2/26-Mailed paper app and packet.
5/20-Plastic in hand.
83 days mailbox to mailbox.

It depends on several things including how many different addresses you have lived at, if any were out of state, your actual background history, etc...

It could take you about a week, or, since i moved from out of state just 6 months ago, I believe it will take me somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks for the background.

Did my class in Feb.
Online application and finger prints in March.
Mailed my documentation in on March 26, hoping to see an update soon, based on recent reports.
Good luck to us all!

I sent everything in the mailbox on March 4th. I got my first update to background check: under review on April 16th. I was hoping the background would go quick since my record is immaculate (have never even been pulled over *knock on wood*) and I work for the local police department. However no luck. Sitting at 20 days in background, and 62 total days right now in the "mailbox to mailbox" scenario. :banghead: I imagine I will hear something shortly since some of the longer mailbox to mailbox time frames I've seen are in the mid 70 range. Here's to patience! :cheers2:

If they do the background check and can "SEE" if you have been arrested in the past, wouldn't it come to reason that they can "see" the result if it was dismissed or if you were found guilty? So then why do they need a copy of the dismissal?

thanks just thinking out loud again

The problem with your logic is you are talking about a government agency and used the word "reason". The two will never coexist.

Starting to wonder if I need to call, based on some time frames some of us should have at least some progress. I understand they are busy but this is kinda ridiculous (sorry just venting a little). :txflag:

03/15/2013 Online Application Completed
03/17/2013 Electronic Fingerprints Completed
03/28/2013 Submitted Documents online.
05/07/2013 Nothing...

I'm jealous, but hopeful since I mailed mine in on the same day. Maybe my change in status is about to arrive.
