According to the DPS site, my plastic is in the mail. No telling how long it will be now....

From time of their receipt to their mailing it has been 66 calendar days. Now it is up to the post office...it is the post office that has me worried.

Oh well, if that is my biggest problem, I am blessed.

Mine changed to mailed on 4/26. Received it today.

April 13 - DPS updated online as received 
April 28 - Manufacture Pending
April 30th - Mailed
May 3rd - Plastic has arrived!

63 days mailbox to mailbox

Not sure what im going to do with my time not having to check my status or mailbox.. Good luck to all you guys and gals still waiting!

To all in the waiting room, there is hope!

I just received my CHL in the mail...it took the grand total of 65 days. Not bad.

I have been wearing my 1911 everyday in the house....now to go outside!!!

I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments!

3/16/13- Take Class (W/ Hardcopy Paperwork)
3/19/13- Electronic Fingerprints
3/20/13- Mail Paperwork
3/25/13- DPS Received Paperwork
4/30/13- Status Finally Changed on Texas.gov
5/4/13- Still Waiting

I would like to think since I don’t have a criminal history/record that it would be a little faster, but online it now states that my background check is under review. So I will be forced to do nothing but wait. I will post later to update when I get my CHL.

I am around the same time frame as you. It has been over 30 days and no update yet.
I also have no criminal background, or special conditions. Sitting here crossing my fingers (probably atleast for another month).
I was a little worried because it hasn't changed at all, but some of these stories have given me hope. Thanks to all who have contributed.

3/24/13 - Packet sent to Austin
3/26/13 - Paperwork received in Austin
3/29/13 - Fingerprints done

Just adding my updated time line. Its very true DPS updates at 6am Just to check. I checked at 5:58 am and not update rechecked at 6:01 am and the update showed.

3-7-13-Application completed online
3-8-13 -Fingerprints
3-9-13- Class completed
3-11-13 -Mailed all paperwork to DPS
4-27-13 DPS finally updated

Call me impatient, but I did all the online stuff in Jan. took the class in Feb. they updated the site in March and mailed the end of April. Now I'm wearing a hole in the path to my mail box. I could not help but laugh when I read how many times folks checked their status, I thought it was only me. Glad to know I'm not in this boat alone.

I'm wondering what exactly this means (Manufacturing Pending) I've read other posts and most after this is posted on DPS site (Manufacturing Pending) they are getting mailed a few days later?

That talking about making your CHL card. If its pending then its in line to be made.

Thanks for the reply.. This went faster than I thought it would. One of the people that works for me his took over 3 months in Background Check. Mine took only 7 days (5 working days) to complete.

Here is my timeline so far.

2/23-CHL Class
2/26-mailed paper application and all other documents
2/28-DPS received mail in app and packet(certified mailed)
5/2- First Update and in the system, fingerprints scheduled.
5/6-Fingerprints done.

Working on 10 weeks since DPS received app and packet. I hope my BG check does not take long, would like to have plastic before I hit 3 months.
