New to the site. Been lurking on here but didn't join simply because I had not got my CHL yet. As I was getting close I had to join and chime in on my wait much like many others. Finally came today. Took 72 days.
Me single old dude confirmed bachelor too many hobbies that most women wouldn't tolerate till death do us part :lol: Live in Round Rock Texas born in Amarillo Texas raised up in the DFW area. Went HS at Carter HS in Oak Cliff area of Dallas. Work for myself and life is good. I have been a deacon in my church, am a elder in my church. Whether you believe or not my dad always told me to just do the right thing and you will be alright. Into all kinds of hunting, guns, bows, traps, etc. Fishing I fish out of a kayak mostly on the coast, but lakes and rivers work too. Do several river trips where we put in then work our way down the river and camp on various islands along the way. Did Bastrop to Smithville last year 22 miles 4 days 3 nights what a blast. Member of the Texas Predator Posse Forum, Texas Kayak Fishing Forum , Austin Kayak Fishing Forum, CHL Forum, S&W Forum too. Fun stuff and I can learn a lot. Hope to meet some of you in person some day.

New to shooting and haven't taken chl yet but plan to in the next month or so on a free weekend
Just purchased a ruger sr9c and will be purchasing more as this is an addicting hobby

Welcome. Since you're new to shooting, I always suggest go get some training, especially if you're considering a CHL. And remember, your CHL class is NOT training.

new guy here from north fort worth near Roanoke....
moved to Texas a couple years ago after spending the last 20 years raising our family in NC...decided to get my CHL a few months ago after reading this forum for several months or so...my application is pending right now...its in the background check phase after only being mailed to DPS june 3rd...LC9 for my edc along with a N82 iwb holster...looking forward to being around for a long time so keep all the forum posts coming...I like to check in several times a day when I'm suppose to be being productive...

Hello from Cypress. Male, 39, Novice pistol owner of a Springfield XD Subcompact 9mm. Took Handgun Fundamentals at Gander Mtn., NRA Basic Pistol, TX CHL, and Utah CFP courses - so far. TX CHL holder since April 2013 and have obtained several other non resident state permits since (AZ, VA, FL, NH, ME pending, UT pending.)

Been lurking for a while. Nice group of folks.
