I was told by the Call Center Manager for DPS Regulatory Services the website updates are currently about 48 hours behind. So far she was correct. On Wednesday 4/17 she said I was through background check and was being moved along to manufacturing on Thursday, then she stated about 24 after that it should be mailed. So here's how it probably happened....

Background completed 04/17 Updated 04/19
Pending Manufacturing 04/17 Updated 04/19
Manufacturing 04/18 updated 04/20
Mailed 04/19 updated 04/21

If this is the correct timeline then my app was processed in about 51 days from the day it was received.

Man, I was a little worried there, my wife and I sent the packets the same day, she went to mailed 4/11/13 (10 days ago).
I had wondered if they came up with something in my background I was not aware of but finally today (4/21/13 on a Sunday?) I went to Manufacturing Pending.
Here is how the time line went for me:

12/4: Applied Online:
1/13: Fingerprints:
2/9: CHL Class:
2/11: Mailed Packet
2/12: DPS signed for it
3/9: Application Received and showed "awaiting background check on web site
4/21: manufacturing pending

Hope the rest of you waiting get good news soon.

I thought I would jump in after lurking around for a couple of months. Everyone's input has been very helpful while waiting. With that said here is where my journey stands as of today 4/21/2013

4/21 Background Check Complete - Manufacture Pending

Just a little longer

I submitted everything mid-February and still have this message:

"License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."

I guess I have a hang up somewhere. One more thing to figure out in a busy life.

Really thinking about contacting my state rep and seeing if they can find out why DPS has yet to start on my application and they have had my app and packet for 53 days now. Everyone else has with received plastic or is on the final stage and I still get the *Error your data was not found* message when I try to log in.

I have called and they do have my packet but they have yet to even start on it. Im going to give DPS 1 more week(next Monday will be 61 days) and if Im still not in the system Im going to call and see what the deal is. If they just give me the old" just wait a few more weeks" speech my next call will be my state rep and I will find out how to file a formal complaint against DPS.

Waiting on the "plastic" is like playing the lottery and not winning a single dollar and then BAM....WINNER!

FINALLY went to MFG pending

I didn't keep all my dates but everything was mailed on 2/15 from about 10 miles from DPS in austin
fingerprints/background under review on 3/20
MFG Pending on 4/22

guessing it was received on 2/18-2/19 that would put me at around 63 days if weekends are counted (are they ?)
