How is a bill defeated with more yes than no's? Or is this to see if they can stop a filabuster, so it requires 60 votes. There was a bill with Cruz's name is that our Cruz?

Is it all over or does the Obama bribery start now? You know like on Obamacare. You get a new air force base if you change your vote.

I figured the assault weapons ban was dead on arrival, but is the background check bill also now dead?

Analysis please, thanks.
When will ammunition be available again?

I'm thrilled to hear that.

Nothing is ever dead in Washington. That's why we speak of the zombie apocalypse.

I'm having even more negative thoughts about McCain. He needs to go.

All of these amendments required 60 votes to pass.

Yes, it was our Cruz who presented a very good bill regarding NICS enforcement.

It is not over. The bribery starts now.

While McCain did vote for Toomey-Manchin, he also voted for Grassley-Cruz.

Krauthammer just slapped Juan Williams down like a bobcat after a quail after Williams went off on an emotional about how the kids and families of Newtown were let down by the senate.

I understand that. One does not offset the other in my mind. He has apparently fallen into the emotional "we've got to do something" trap.

I was on the treadmill at the gym and almost fell off when I read this quote from potus: ""There were no coherent arguments as to why we couldn't do this. It came down to politics,". Isn't everything in Washington about politics? "rlol"

I'm also getting kind of tired of the newton families being used as props. They can deny it all they want to but that's what they are being used for. *Post edited; got confused with Aurora*

We won the battle today but we must remember that the war is not over against our 2nd amendment rights. They will keep trying and remember to write your congressmen and senators! IMO it was to close on some of these bills!

Cause he is dead?

The only time the Dems won't use kids as a prop is when they favor abortion!

I'm not sure why all the hub-bub...none of that would have passed the House even if it does pass in the Senate.

Cant wait to watch Morning Joe on MSNBS to see them cry all over themselves

The hub-bub is because this puts a significant negative dent into the plans of the Democrat Party and their RINO supporters...they wanted to be able to push this stuff through and show how powerful their case was and that they had all the momentum on their side...but they didn't get that. It was a MORALE victory for us, as it shows their power has some limits, even with all the money they've spent so far and all the heavy media push they've used notwithstanding. I agree this ain't over, but it was NOT good for the antis.
